Took the KrakenSDR out for some fox hunting today and realized it’s time to turn my messy box of parts into a proper field RF kit for broader intelligence-gathering operations. To that end, I'll add additional SDRs, like the HackRF, to increase the spectrum coverage. The plan is to add waterproof pass-throughs for all the antennas and other ports to make everything more durable and field-ready. A new device in my homelab. Keysight E4440A-1DS 26.5 GHz spectrum analyzer. Installed options: 1DS/226/266/B78/B7J/BAC The unit is freshly calibrated. Unfortunately, no wideband analysis in this unit. These units are hard to find and way more expensive. But that's ok. This is the biggest and craziest investment in my homelab so far. It weighs so much that I'm afraid for my equipment table.

12 years later and I'm still having issues with this POS. I paid through the nose for this over priced over hyped up paper weight. No help from Uniden. Nothing but excuses and goal post moving until the warranty ran out. THEN Uniden wanted to fix it.. For a price. Never again 🤬

@OGridPete What is the rack or rail your using to support the gear? Needing something to do interesting things along the roof of my Tundra.

I finally paid the $200 required to upgrade the firmware on the Flex 6300 installed in the Jeep. I can now once again move the Maestro between the Jeep and the 8600 at the QTH. I have a special VESA mount on the back of the Maestro that enables me to quickly secure it in the Jeep using a single thumb nut. The unit features its own internal battery and connects to the 6300 via the Jeep’s UniFi Wi-Fi LAN, so no wires are required. This arrangement provides an excellent mobile experience. It allows me to operate digital modes (VarAC, Winlink, and others) on the laptop while simultaneously monitoring sideband activity via the Maestro, with its large touchscreen controls and waterfall.
