BREAKING: The Senate just passed the legislation allowing the devastation of the Boundary Waters. The motion passed 50-49, and now goes to Donald Trump’s desk. The way Republicans passed this bill that prevents future administrations from issuing protections for Superior National Forest, so this pristine land will be exploited in perpetuity unless Congress intervenes to reverse this decision. The state of Minnesota can still block the Chilean mining corporation from operating in Superior National Forest and protect the Boundary Waters from pollution.

The $117 billion tax break Trump handed to the 1% is more than federal spending of: -The Department of Agriculture at $89.2 billion -The Department of Education at $46.9 billion -The Department of Labor at $22.7 billion -The Department of Energy at $20 billion The rich get richer while skimming from federal services meant to help us.

A closer look at Trump's 2027 budget

Trump has proposed a $1.5 trillion defense budget — a 40% increase, the largest since WWII. In exchange for more war he wants to: -Cut the EPA budget by half -Cut $10.7 billion for housing -Cut $8.5 billion for K-12 programs -Cancel $15 billion for clean energy -Cut $2.5 billion for clean drinking water -Eliminate $1.6 billion for youth job training -Cut $3.5 billion from the Labor Department -Eliminate $395 million for senior employment -Eliminate $775 million in food assistance grants -Eliminate the National Endowment for Democracy -Cut $5 billion from the National Institutes of Health -Eliminate the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) In all, cuts to domestic programs would account for a 10% reduction in discretionary spending.
