The prime minister is trying to recast the narrative, framing his changes as pro-aspiration and supply, so his government can help people get into a home of their own. ebx.sh/t1RzNK

Renewable energy is lowering the price of electricity

#BREAKING: Surging levels of renewable energy and better reliability from coal-fired generators are set to give consumers a break, with benchmark power prices to fall up to 10 per cent for consumers and more for small businesses. ab.co/4dFNSir

@angelar68197975 The issue is CGT on every asset class outside of property. This was never mentioned in the lies leading up to the budget & has dropped from no where. It will literally kill investment, jobs & aspiration

@crikey_news @Leo_Puglisi6 Given that Teal voters are about to get shafted by Albanese I’d suggest the switch back to the Liverals will all but see the Teals off.

@NRL @footyindustryAU He did some good things & the game is certainly in a great spot. However Rugby is the number one sport in the Pacific. Western Sydney Aussies playing league for Samoa & Tonga doesnt change the fact rugby still dominates in the islands of Fiji, Tonga & Samoa.

From helping to ensure the NRL was the first major sporting competition to resume during COVID to the growth of the NRLW and the international game to entrenching rugby league as the No.1 sport in Australia and the Pacific, Andrew Abdo’s legacy will last well beyond his departure on July 15. nrl.com/news/2026/05/2…

From Christy. “The Waratahs remain in conversations with Foley about bringing the former Wallabies linchpin back to the club he led to their one – and only – title in 2014, and they should do everything they can to ensure it happens. He would help Angus Crichton immensely given his vast experience and strong communication skills.” planetrugby.com/news/opinion-h…

Amazon is planning to submit an offer to the NRL, the Financial Review has learned. V’landys has for weeks been telling stakeholders Amazon’s Prime Video is interested, according to two people with knowledge of conversations, but others close to Amazon are aware of its intentions, too. Amazon declined to comment. afr.com/companies/medi…

Just had a look at the ticket situation for #AUSvIRE at Allianz aka SFS on July 4. Can't be more than 100 tickets left. 95% of them in the cheapest seats. Make it a sell out people! If you haven't got a ticket get one. I may even buy you a beer if you find me there. #Wallabies

#BREAKING Teal independents are in advanced talks to create a new political party that may be announced within weeks, sources close to the deliberations say, with MPs Allegra Spender and Zali Steggall leading the push. However, the project is facing complications, including that moderate Liberal figures have so far refused invitations to defect, making it more difficult for a new outfit to appeal to a larger cohort of disaffected voters. Former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull has been one of the people making the approaches but the extent of his involvement is unclear, and one source said they did not expect he would become a public face of the party. Independent senator David Pocock, who has arguably the most popular brand of any Australian independent and has rejected Climate 200 funding to maintain his independence, was approached to join the party a fortnight ago. Should at least five of the six possible members join, the party would reach minor party status. This would allow the leader an additional $100,000 in salary and extra travel entitlements. It is not yet clear who would lead the party, although Steggall and Spender are the most likely candidates. The Coalition would likely use Turnbull’s involvement as a way to disparage the new party. The Teals are trying to be One Nation in grabbing disillusioned. Nobody is going near supporting a party that is headed up by Malcolm Turnbull.

Tele journo Dean Ritchie spent the past four days with the Perth Bears in Western Australia as he was given an insight into how the NRL's 18th team is building. Gotta say they’re talking up a big game! They’ve sold 15,000 memberships & expected to rise to 30K by the start of next season. HBF Park only fits about 20,000 fans.

@TMFScottP This budget, if implemented in full, will see a significant swing back to the Liberals. Living in a teal seat, I have many friends who voted teal but will come back to Libs now the ALP is coming after them, their businesses & family.

The people in the centre and on the left dismissing/misunderstanding the rise of One Nation are making the same mistake as those on the right dismissing/criticising the Teals. If you can only see the world through your own lens, you're missing the bigger picture by a *lot*.
