According to Adalah and confirmed by the Embassy of Brazil in Israel, flotilla activists Thiago de Avila and Saif Abukeshek, kidnapped by Israeli occupation naval forces in international waters on April 30, have been beaten, blindfolded, held in stress positions, and interrogated by Shin Bet. De Avila lost consciousness twice and faces possible Mossad interrogation on "terrorist" suspicion. Both are on hunger strike and are due in court on May 3.

I’m paying close to $300 a tank to run my truck. And that’s not including gas for farm activity. I have a farm. I can’t haul any livestock ANYWHERE. Neither can my neighbors who have cattle. One of them sold all his cattle and he’s out of the business. I know many farmers who grow hay, wheat, pumpkin, corn, cattle and they’re going under. People do not understand how much trouble we are in as a country.

I was made aware of antisemitic yard signs that were put up in Ann Arbor that blame Jewish people for acts over which they have no control. Signs like these are unacceptable and not welcome here. We cannot and must not conflate the actions of a foreign government with Judaism or the Jewish people. I will always stand with my Jewish sisters and brothers against these kinds of vile smears—and I urge anyone who believes in peace, justice, and truth do the same.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio determined that "an emergency exists that requires the immediate sale" of the arms in each case. The sales include air-defense systems for Kuwait and Qatar, Patriot missiles for Qatar, and laser-guided rockets for Qatar, the UAE, and Israel. The inclusion of Patriot missiles for Qatar is notable given that an April report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies found that US Patriot stockpiles had been significantly depleted by weeks of war with Iran. It is the third time since the start of the Iran war that the administration has cited emergency powers to skip congressional review on major arms deals. In early March, Rubio used the same authority to immediately sell 12,000 bombs to Israel. Later that month, he expedited a multibillion-dollar sale to the UAE and Kuwait, along with aircraft and munitions support for Jordan.

After animal activists broke into Ridglan Farms in Wisconsin back in March to rescue several beagles being used for scientific testing — and months of protests — the facility recently agreed to sell 1,500 of their 2,000 dogs to organizations, like Big Dog Ranch Rescue. Now, dozens of the animals are being taken to properties like this one in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin to get checked out by veterinarians before being transferred to rescue shelters and centers that will help them find their forever homes.
