Offensive in standing for the truth and against people who attack the faith. Bringing the restored gospel of Christ brings peace. No hatred or vitriol here.

@OffensiveHugs That’s why I try to spend much of my time testifying of God’s witness to me of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and the miracle God gave me for reading it
English

@OffensiveHugs External logic and evidence can't overpower internal emotional validation for you. Got it
English

What I learned from this, (or what was re affirmed, really) is that the heat from the best arguments or attacks cannot compare to the bonfire of a witness from the Holy Ghost 🔥🕊
Latter-Day Peacemaker@OffensiveHugs
The best of anti Mormons critics cannot negate the testimony of the Holy Ghost. I echo with the prophet Joseph Smith: "I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it, neither dared I do it"
English

@MichaelFarley77 Well. You can't do point A beyond your own opinions so I guess we are stuck there.
I also never said anything about feelings. Do you know the difference between the Holy Ghost and your feelings?
English

@OffensiveHugs So you can be shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that Joe Smith was a false prophet, but you wouldn't care because you've attributed good feelings you have about his teachings to the Holy Spirit?
English

@HagerDevin99787 Yes, the Spirit does not lead us to break covenants or deny Christ.
English

@OffensiveHugs Because the Holy Ghost won’t lead me astray right? Plenty of God and truth seeking people aren’t led to the church and are led elsewhere right?
English

@OffensiveHugs Translation: we feel good about this, therefore you can’t persuade us with facts or logic.
English

@HagerDevin99787 The Holy Ghost isnt feelings.
That wasn't the Holy Ghost.
English

@OffensiveHugs I felt the “holy ghost” when I was a missionary, read the Book of Mormon and prayed about. I also felt it when I left the church and realized it wasn’t true
English

@ChemBearEsq You know wrong.
That's how you are interpreting his actions without doing any kind of primary document research.
English

@OffensiveHugs I know BoM, PHP, and D&C are bad editions of a KJV Bible. It's why they contain the same signature Erasmus errors and interpolations.
He ran for president. He controlled a town. He ordered the destruction of a newspaper. Those are all clear evidence of power seeking and use.
English

@Brian5301739156 I didnt claim anything about the moral high ground or my feelings.
You can have experiences with God too. That is my point.
English

@OffensiveHugs That’s not the way that works. You don’t get to claim the moral high ground over other who are religious but not the same as you when you yourselves aren’t ALWAYS on the same page with the Holy Ghost
All you get to claim is you feel good and some people may or may not too 👍🏻
English

@ChemBearEsq You think the BOM, D&C, and POGP are editions of the bible?
Can you show me something from his journals, a primary source of any kind, that shows Joseph Smith was interested in power?
English

@OffensiveHugs KJV Bible, primarily badly copy edited with Smith's own fanfictions
He certainly did a better job than others did in going all the way rather than slip in a few changes here and there, but forgeries all the same
As for a list of power, you just said "nu uh". Cope.
English

@lovell_julius By God's authority to me. There is no greater authority than God.
I also dont have to convince anyone else that I am right. You're welcome to come to have the same experiences I have had.
Our message has never been a "trust me" kind of message.
Go to the source.
English

My friend, I'm not trying to be difficult. I'm sincerely inquiring, so bear with me. This is just the messy part of communication. Saying it is God who has witnessed to you is a statement of faith. I know you believe it - I get it. But it's still faith. So by what authority do you know that it is truly God who has witnessed to you?
English

@mfreivald So bare assertion is your.... negation... that I havent had an experience with God?
English

@OffensiveHugs "Loud?" You're weird.
I do and did, in fact, negate yours or anyone else's attempts to weaponize the Holy Spirit's authority for themselves.
I reject it outright.
Why is that hard to understand?
English

The best of Mormon/LDS proponents don't get to abuse the name of the Holy Spirit as their personal trump card against all who disagree with them--essentially claiming the Holy Spirit's authority for themselves.
There is every kind of creed and cult that tries to weaponize the Holy Spirit. It cannot be taken seriously in this way.
So, yes, I CAN negate your CLAIM to the Holy Spirit.
Latter-Day Peacemaker@OffensiveHugs
The best of anti Mormons critics cannot negate the testimony of the Holy Ghost. I echo with the prophet Joseph Smith: "I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it, neither dared I do it"
English

@Brian5301739156 It could mean something to you if you let the Holy Ghost into your life.
English

@OffensiveHugs And that literally means nothing to anyone but you
English

@JohnnyP80008 Im not sure I understand your last sentence about endowment?
How familiar are you with our faith? Genuine friendly question here.
English

@OffensiveHugs Not my point..I want to see how much of LDS is the same as other churches. Everyone preachs the same thing most of the time. Every Baptist has all the endowment stuff for example.
English

@StevenStubble Christ is the essence of our theology. Can you come to know him by any other way than the Holy Ghost?
(Please dont answer "by my own or someone else's interpretation of the bible")
English

@OffensiveHugs The essence of Mormon theology:
"If ya know ya know"
Yeah I think that's a quote from Jesus or someone.
English

@lovell_julius By God's witness to the individual through the Holy Ghost per my initial post.
I dont follow Gods prophet because I am told to. But because God has witnesses to me that it is the best way to follow Him.
And it really is the best way.
English

@OffensiveHugs Of course God is the source of truth. But by what authority can the LDS church claim it speaks on behalf of God's authority?
English

@JohnnyP80008 Thank goodness truth comes from God directly, not people's bad interpretations of the bible.
English

@OffensiveHugs How much of the LDS would exist if it was purely derived from bible study? 20%? 50%? 70%?
