When she answered the phone she didn't sound right and I asked her if she was ok. She confessed she had just swallowed a handful of prescription codeine tablets in an attempt to take her own life as she was unable to make a third Bounce Back loan payment. Fortunately we got her the help she needed and is in a more stable condition now. I then received news yesterday that another member had made an attempt on their own life for similar reasons and then another after the Sunak v Starmer debate on ITV. This really cannot go on and I am at a loss as to what to do for these poor people who feel that ending their lives is a solution."
