This makes me furious. Now the kids are being impacted by the lax attitude to foreign offenders. Imagine you have your baby at a nursery in Twickenham, London in 2024. You find out that CCTV has captured one of the workers abusing children. Over 6 months this abuse included pinching, punching, slapping, kicking (including one boy in the face), stepping on a child’s shoulder, pulling ears/hair/toes, pushing children headfirst into cots, covering mouths, and vaping near infants. Some victims were as young as 6 months old. The nursery worker was called Roksana Lecka, a 22 year old Polish national. She was convicted of abusing 21 children and babies in September 2025 and sentenced to 8 years in prison. The judge described the abuse as “sadistic” and “relentless”. In February 2026, after serving just 15% of her sentence she was sent back to Poland. Yes, you read that correctly: just 5 months of an 8 year sentence. She is not convicted in Poland and so is unlikely to serve any further time there. The parents of the victims are appalled. A Polish national can commit a depraved crime against children and get away with almost no punishment.
