On Monday @KemiBadenoch said "good people across the political spectrum" will "condemn" the appalling firebomb attacks on the Prime Minister's family home. Today her Tory Vice Chair @Matt_VickersMP was confronted with the sickening comments he made yesterday and shrugged them off. This goes beyond party politics. Badenoch should sack him.

Very well done. However….,

Despite @DerbyshireCCC innings defeat here at Chester-le-Street, @HarryCame4 - leaving the field here at the end of the match - has become the first Derbyshire player to carry his bat through a completed innings in first class cricket against Durham. There have been 40 instances of a Derbyshire player carrying his bat, and Came is the 27th player to do it. @ACScricket

Hannah Spencer: "There's plenty of dirty grubbiness behind me." Lee Anderson and Sarah Pochin: 😳 Interesting. No names were mentioned, yet somehow they seemed to know exactly who she meant. Quite the coincidence. #PMQ
Crewkerne Man@CrewkerneMan

At PMQs, Green MP Hannah Spencer, draped in exquisite Gucci, accused Lee Anderson and Sarah Pochin of being “dirty and grubby.” But Starmer landed the line, calling out Zack Polanski’s absence and asking if he’d swapped his houseboat for a submarine.

@Anitaaaa_W There are massive divisions in our whole society. Private schools simply perpetuate societal differences. Abolish these bastions of privilege completely. That’s my “logic”. .

@Anitaaaa_W The “ just about managing” should find a good state school, save the money and take the advantages that the equality of opportunity brings. As for the “really rich” my solution?… leave the country or join a state school and see how the other 95% live.

So they are a little bit elitist already then. I’ll settle for that!!
🌍 Anitaaaa@Anitaaaa_W

@OldknowPhilip @vickigregson @BBCPolitics You could apply that logic to anything. The joke is, all that’s happened is the parents who just about scraped together the fees are now in state schools and the rich parents are still sending their kids to private school. Your logic just makes private school even more elitist

@Anitaaaa_W @vickigregson @BBCPolitics Why do parents send their kids to private school then? Surely it can’t be such philanthropy. They are attempting to buy advantage and consolidate the advantages the already have. Selfishly.

@OldknowPhilip @vickigregson @BBCPolitics It’s the opposite. Private school parents are actually subsidising the state schools. Their tax is going towards state school places their kids are entitled to but don’t take the spaces

The taxpayer shouldn't be "subsidising private institutions and private schools" Labour MP Lola McEvoy defends the government's decision to add VAT to private school fees as figures show the number of pupils in private schools is falling bbc.in/4v31nQI

Well this is how it should be. Single state education. Appropriately funded no matter other advantages might be. Much like the NHS. Level playing field but outcomes different.
Niccolo@Nick7576

@OldknowPhilip @vickigregson @BBCPolitics It costs the government more. I took my 3 out of school. 75k saved. Thank you, to all taxpayers out there now paying for my kids' ed.

Using “State places” in order to gain educational advantage. Result? Greater divisions in society, wealth, educational opportunities, and life chances.
Diana Kane@diana_kane84719

@OldknowPhilip @BBCPolitics What subsidy? They aren't using state places which their tax pays for. Frankly they should get vouchers! It's a spiteful policy and as my post above tells you, taxpayers are now paying the VAT for some parents who are serving this country abroad! Madness!
