@clubmin3 October 11th, 2024. It cost me a little more than ¥300 😅 I like rare or fun controllers and accessories, the game was released in Europe but not the controller, so it was a nice find!

@Craig_Higgins @gamesyouloved Hard disagree there. You can have a collection of trainers, cars, stamps, books or whatever you like, it doesn't mean to say that generally they should be for a wider audience? I can also enjoy my games with friends and family, that's more than one.

@Craig_Higgins @gamesyouloved Relax a touch there. The two things you've compared, have next to no relevance to each other. I'm a big fan of Furrtek and others that have done great work towards preservation, but I'm also a long term NeoGeo fan, so having my collection isn't to look "impressive" to others.

@gamesyouloved @OllyCapes Impressive, right? Tell you what's way, way more impressive. All these games have been dumped/preserved so we aren't being held hostage over some greedy little Gollums. Even the hardware itself written into FPGA by thankless and generous community efforts.

@didyouknowgamin Ask him if there were definitive known production numbers for Neo Geo AES games, for instance the English version of Metal Slug 1 or even English Kizuna Encounter (along with other titles) Or ask him if there was a minimum production run number for a Neo Geo AES release.

Neo Geo Fans: I've written a video about Neo Geo Pocket that sums up all SNK history into ~10 minutes (not including NGP itself). I've read up, but not a lifelong fan, so I reckon my summary has oversights & errors. Any Neo Geo superfans fancy reading it over, offering feedback?

@OllyCapes It would be the only way I could play VR stuff realistically as I get really motion sick from it. Plus it’s just a nice way to get around! I kinda like the idea of wandering for miles in Skyrim or similar. Jumping off stuff is still going to be a bit of an issue, though… 😆

I don’t understand. This stuff is real, it exists, you can actually buy it, and yet the VR market is almost dead. What happened to the kids in the 90s who dreamed about this possibility? Why do modern kids now go crazy for games where you don’t really do anything, where at most you just swipe up and down, or spend their time screaming in stupid games that require no concentration, like amoebas with no curiosity? This stuff finally f***ing exists, and yet the videogame market pretends it’s invisible. F***! F***! F***! In 1998, when we were 13 playing Resident Evil 2 on the PlayStation with my friends, we would have killed to be able to play something like this. For all zero people out there that wondered, yes, the RC controller included with the Japanese PS2 game Flying Circus does indeed work w/ the European version of the game, RC Sports Copter Challenge. Also, the photo used on the back of the boxset is used for the Euro front cover

@SHOKEN4 Yes! It's a niche system, but there are fans here as well as some more hardcore fans. I've been collecting Neo Geo AES since 2004~ and have about 65~ games now. I also have a lot of Neo Geo Pocket / Color games 😊
