Coding was never this noble craft people romanticize. It was just a fight with machines that refused to understand what you obviously meant. The only truly novel thing is the mathematical thinking and logic you want to express through code. AI tools like Claude Code and Codex can now handle most of the friction between human intent and the machine. This is also why I hate the term “vibe coding.” It is a good term for people who use AI to write code blindly. But people who use AI while understanding constraints and logic are not vibe coders. They are stoic coders who do not want to waste time fighting the machine.
