@CFR_org Tonya Harding is American, Americans are Tonya Hardings.

“We are watching a superpower developing super scientific capabilities, and our whole effort is how to slow [China] down, rather than how to become better than them,” says Albert Bourla, chairman and CEO of Pfizer, Inc.
“The only way to be able not to lose the edge that we have—it is if we do changes inside our American ecosystem of biotech, of science, of academia, of pharmaceuticals, of capital markets, venture capital.”

@kajakallas @YvetteCooperMP In that case, make Panama and suez canal free
English

Thank you @YvetteCooperMP for convening a call of over 40 countries on the Strait of Hormuz.
This waterway is a global public good. Iran cannot be allowed to charge countries a bounty to let ships pass. International law doesn’t recognise pay-to-pass schemes.
Today, we looked at diplomatic, economic, and security measures to restore safe passage, alongside working with the shipping industry.
The EU’s Aspides naval mission has already assisted 1,700 ships in the Red Sea and must be scaled up. We cannot afford to lose another critical trade route.
We support work by the UN on humanitarian corridors in the Strait to get food and fertilisers out. The EU has tools to track and facilitate transit that could help with that.

@World_Affairs11 Amazing! They are begging for Iranian missiles?
English

My message is clear:
To the USA & Israel:
It is high time to stop the war that is inflicting immense human suffering & triggering devastating economic consequences.
To Iran:
Stop attacking your neighbours.
Conflicts end when leaders choose dialogue over destruction.
That choice still exists.
And it must be made now.
English

@kajakallas If you kick Israel and America out of the middle East, the world would be peaceful and a better place
English

I had a phone call with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi today to discuss the situation in Iran and its impact on the global economy and energy security. We also discussed EU-China relations.
Iranian attacks on civilian ships, and the threat of more, have brought traffic in the Strait of Hormuz to a near halt. This is why restoring safe, toll-free freedom of navigation in the Strait, consistent with the Law of the Sea, is an urgent priority.
The EU supports all diplomatic efforts to achieve this and calls for de-escalation and restraint. Attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure must cease.

Finally, an Arab country has taken a strong decision
Qatar is the first Gulf country to take the decision to withdraw US forces from its lands
Qatar's Foreign Minister, from the moment he came out, spoke and said that Qatar has paid a heavy price for the presence of foreign forces on its land
Qatar's relationship with Iran is a relationship of brothers and siblings, and we will not allow it to be harmed again through Qatari lands
America has broken all its promises with us and only thinks about itself, and in the end, Qatar is the biggest loser
If America were truly thinking about Qatar's interests, it would respect its decision not to trespass on any country, but it seems it's only exploiting our lands to protect another country.
Qatar has finally surpassed its shaabowa, hopefully the rest of the Gulf countries follow 👏👏👏👏 👏

@wanghui90 @RommelFLopez @rs015dbph @D3Vlicious @prolifemother @BCT14Avenger @Alexyuchengchen @CollinSLKoh @BlueSea1964 @AestheticSales_ You can't rename another country's territory,
English

Why is China opposing Philippines' renaming of 131 features of Kalayaan Island Group, West Philippine Sea?
China sees it as an act of justifying Philippines' sovereign rights over the features. But what's wrong with that? It is a Filipino territory after all @RommelFLopez

English

@SecRubio USA bullied Panama. That's why Panama illegally kicked out the Chinese firms, who sill have 20 years in their contract. USA's biting dogs should be punished.
English

China’s decision to detain or otherwise impede Panama-flagged vessels engaged in lawful trade destabilizes supply chains, raises costs, and erodes confidence in the global trading system. The United States stands with Panama against any retaliatory actions against its sovereignty and will always support our partners in the face of bullying.

Trump claims that we "don't need the Strait of Hormuz," and that its closure doesn't affect us...
This is one of many erratic claims from Trump that reveal he has no f-cking clue what he's doing and is lying to the American people because he never had a plan for a drawn out conflict and he's desperately searching for an offramp.
Trump is far more concerned with how this war is affecting markets, his declining ratings, and surging oil prices. So he talks out of his ass to protect his fragile ego, to manipulate stock prices, and to sell a narrative that shields him from accountability.
His cabinet's messaging about the pretext for this war has been wildly inconsistent to hide the fact that due to their poor planning, arrogance and incompetence, they've yet to achieve any of their constantly shifting "objectives."
Most Americans don't even understand why we're at war with Iran in the first place.
Before the war, Trump also dismissed concerns about Strait of Hormuz closures, even though he was explicitly warned that Iran would resort to these countermeasures which have disrupted global trade and have forced neighboring countries to shut in oil production. Retaliatory actions that anyone could have predicted!
And now that Iran has leverage in the form of one-fifth control over the global oil trade and the power to cause world wide market shocks, for that matter, even influence over the American economy and the capacity to create diplomatic tensions between the US and its allies, the Islamic Republic can now make demands it never would have dreamed of making before the war.
The US has inadvertently helped Iran secure an advantage in this war by conceding more bargaining authority to them in matters of their sovereignty, their control over the Strait of Hormuz and even the future of their nuclear weapons program.
We've also managed to anger both our European and Middle East allies due to the extent of the impact of this global energy crisis.
Energy costs are rising around the world. Massive oil infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, which will have rippling and long lasting consequences for every country involved. Oil production and global trade will continue to face significant and possibly permanent disruptions.
The Strait of Hormuz absolutely affects us. Oil is a global market FFS... When the cost of crude oil goes up, we all pay the price.
Nearly every country around the world is dealing with the blowback of this crisis. Some countries have even had to impose energy usage caps.
And even if the war ended tomorrow, the economic toll would still be devastating.
Major oil producers have been forced to shut in their wells, meaning that they can't just magically turn the faucet back on; painful setbacks are inevitable.
It will take months, maybe even years for energy production to return to prior levels. The cost of crude oil won't be suddenly restored to its pre-war equivalent either.
And it's not just the price at the pump that Americans have to worry about. Prices are expected to rise for many goods. Mortgage rates are climbing back up, and interest rates will follow.
There's also the growing likelihood of a recession. Rising costs are persisting, recent GDP figures reveal a sinking economy, and estimates show that the inflation rate is going to exceed 4% in the near future.
And with the price of fertilizer rapidly increasing, food costs are expected to rise considerably as well.
In the meantime, the International Energy Agency, which just happens to be the global authority on this matter, just described the situation as "the greatest global energy security threat in history."
So when Trump claims that the US won't be affected by a global trade disaster that he helped cause, he's either clearly confused, or he's lying to project strength where there is only weakness. Perhaps a mix of both.
Trump is lying to shirk his responsibilities and to cope with his embarrassment over operation "epic failure."
English

@IRTruePromise @SecRubio Look dude don’t make fun of American troops. You can say whatever about Trump. They are following order as Trumps gives them.
English

President Trump delivered a powerful speech tonight. He was clear about our objectives in Iran:
• Destroy their weapons factories
• Destroy their navy
• Destroy their air force
• Destroy their chances of ever having a nuclear weapon
The President’s leadership sends a message to the world that the United States will defend its people and its interests, and uphold peace through strength.
English

@Kyra_Mohsin @_InfoGram_ The best exit for Trump is to bomb netanyahu to hell, then he can't blackmail him.
English

The war is Netanyahu’s objective. He blackmailed Trump using the Epstein files and dragged him to start this war. Now, Trump is trying to get out of the war somehow, he is looking for an exit and wants to negotiate.
However, Netanyahu is neither letting him talk nor will he let him withdraw from the war. He wants America to fight this war—if people die, let them be Americans die first.
English

BREAKING🚨: This is truly EVIL.
>War was cooling down
>Trump announced a ceasefire
>Negotiations were taking place
>World recovering from economic shock
This man 🇮🇱Netanyahu launched strikes on 🇮🇷Iranian FM Kharazi's home, killing his wife.
He had been negotiating with JD Vance.
What an evil man Netanyahu is.

🇯🇵 Former Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba just dropped the truth about Trump. I met him three times. If you tell him he is wrong, he gets angry right away. You cannot say that. You have to say you are absolutely right and flatter him to save face. That guy judges everything by loss or gain.
This is not a secret. This is how the US operates. Flatter the leader. Stroke the ego. Pretend he is always right. That is not diplomacy. That is servitude. Japan has been doing this for decades. Bowing to Washington. Flattering US presidents. Ignoring its own interests.
Ishiba is speaking the truth that Japanese politicians usually hide. Trump cannot handle criticism. He cannot handle being wrong. He judges everything by what benefits him. Not what benefits the US. Not what benefits Japan. What benefits him.
The world knows this. The US knows this. But no one says it out loud. Ishiba just did. The mask is off. The empire is run by a man who cannot be told he is wrong. And the world is expected to bow. Japan is waking up. The rest of the world is watching.
