I suffered infertility for 6 years only to have a miscarriage. A few months after, my mother bought me a baby onesie and told me she believed I’d have children one day. I was 19 years old, sitting on a curb in Berkeley at 2am, convinced I was Plato reincarnated. No sleep for a week. Full psychosis. And the terrifying part? It didn't feel like madness. It felt like the most profound clarity I'd ever experienced. That's what nobody tells you about psychosis. It doesn't announce itself as illness. It announces itself as enlightenment. I spent the next two years in and out of psych wards. Four hospitalizations. Dozens of medications. Treatment centers across the country. My psychiatrist eventually told me my condition was treatment-resistant. He was wrong. But it took a ketogenic diet to prove it. I haven't had a manic episode in years. I'm almost off all medication. And I wake up every morning grateful that God didn't let that curb in Berkeley be my final destination.

I’ve lost 50 lbs since we moved last year and I can feel it. I push mowed our large yard for the first time this season and it was substantially easier than it was a year ago. Let’s go 💪

It's great because the Google Maps "walking time" is 96 hours, bike is "1 day" - well, I'm mixing biking and running with a 48-hour time limit. *gulp*

@EamonnClark Nice challenge. I like utratrail (I know this is for charity but nonetheless). My max in day is flat 89km or 57km with 3600 elevation. I am not sure if I would manage this in 48 hours, probably not (elapsed time). But maybe... No not in 48 hours moving time 😄

I'm genuinely looking forward to Leo's AI encyclical. Part of me worries it may be full of platitudes and poor understanding of the subject matter, but a bigger part of me is optimistic that in God's providence, it will be the teaching we need for these times.
