You built your friends’ political hopes on the back of Peter Obi’s influence; his credibility, his voter base, his momentum. You knew exactly what he brings to the table. That is why your friends printed shirts, raised money, and positioned themselves under that wave. You want Peter Obi’s structure without standing with Obi. You want his voters, his energy, his legitimacy but you are comfortable backing a move that strips him of relevance in the same party.
