For all CD11 voters - you already know #FaizahIsBonin. If you don't show up June 2, you will hand our district back to the #BoninBubble with Faizah Malik. We cannot relive the @mikebonin disaster.
Jon Regardie@JonRegardie

Notable development in the Council District 11 race with @TraciParkforLA and Faizah Malik. Update from City Clerk shows a third candidate, Jeremy Wineberg, gets an "Insufficient" on his campaign signatures. Means a 2-person contest, to be decided June 2.

Here’s all you need to know about the mendacity of LA’s DSA CM Eunisses Hernandez & DSA candidate for CD11 Faizah Malik. Hernandez doesn’t invite @TraciParkforLA to join a statement & then Malik attacks Park for not joining it even though Park issued her own strong statement

@seeyounex2sday No one in the palisades knows him. He didn’t go to any any of the PPCC meetings. I’ve heard some interesting rumors about his decision to jump into the race.

@kylekatarn95 Faizah Malik I know many housing advocates in LA are clinging onto her bc of Traci Park's setting the tone of the Venice Dell situation, but tbh I think it's a misguided approach considering how quiet she's been on ULA and that this was an overall systemic failure in LA

If someone claims to support building more housing but is more than happy to throw more regulations that discourage housing construction or even just tolerate bad policies, can we really call them pro-housing? Its like allowing someone to cook a meal by themselves but no stove

@charliem013 @_lej44 @WestsideForEv @_jonnyshotit_ CD11 apartment renter here, everyone in my building who’s voting is voting for Traci Park. I know other renters in CD11 and they’re voting for Traci as well. We all have Traci Park signs in our windows, have yet to see one for the other lady.

@WestsideCurrent And a few disrespectful DSA supporters who tried to disrupt the event. By the way, Faizah Malik is endorsed by the DSA.

Nearly 500 Westsiders packed First Lutheran Church in Venice to watch CD11 candidates Traci Park, Faizah Malik, and Jeremy Wineberg go face-to-face ahead of the June 2 primary — with policing, homelessness, and the Mike Bonin legacy lighting up the room. westsidecurrent.com/elections/loud…

Since taking office, @TraciParkforLA has installed more protected bike lanes than 13/15 Councilmembers, including 5/6 who supported HLA, like Eunisses, who has installed ZERO. But @michaelschneider would prefer to score political points from a tragedy.
Michael Schneider@schneider

After the death of a pregnant mom riding a bike with her family, @TraciParkforLA all of a sudden cares about bike lanes. But the bike lanes they’re proposing aren’t safe! They’re door zone bike lanes. Even after a tragic death, protected bike lanes aren’t being considered.

@schneider @TraciParkforLA We're broke because #FaizahIsBonin is suing LA over a failed debacle of a project her mentor Mike Bonin championed thus taking funds out of our pockets. We're also broke because Faizah Malik coauthored ULA which was a debacle for city revenue. Its a #Trend x.com/Justin_G0rd0n/…
Justin Gordon@Justin_G0rd0n

Traci Park’s opponent, Faizah Malik, wrote ULA and is super proud of it. Great work, Faizah! You are responsible for a 30-50% reduction in real estate transactions in LA over $5M and prevented new housing from being built during a housing crisis!

The EAA union that reps >6,000 LA city workers (1/5th of the workforce), just unveiled some endorsements in LA city races. Notably, they backed Faizah Malik, who's challenging sitting CD11 CM Traci Park, and Marissa Roy, who's challenging City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto.

Faizah Malik is the best. I don't know how we'd have gotten through the COVID eviction crisis without her and many is the time she has pulled my chestnuts from the proverbial fire when I have a tenant law quandary. hope she kicks that NIMBY Traci Park square in the backside

There's been a community push as well to get the housing project built. Some community members sent in letters to oppose the mobility hub. Here's a letter from the Council District 11 Coalition for Human Rights opposing Park's "mobility hub" project cityclerk.lacity.org/onlinedocs/201…

LA city leaders advanced a $175K feasibility study for a "mobility hub" for the 2028 Olympics this morning. It's also the site of the Venice Dell affordable housing project. Here's the motion passed by the City Council's Transportation Committee: cityclerk.lacity.org/onlinedocs/201…

@reporterliz Relatedly it's a shame that Faizah Malik put this albatross around the neck of the city as lead counsel on the lawsuit. Because of her insistence, LA is now facing mounting bills on a project that is already dead, taking money from LA taxpayers. Another example of #FaizahIsBonin.

Relatedly, the delay of the affordable housing project in Venice has generated multiple lawsuits, and the City Attorney's Office has requested additional funding to pay for "outside counsel" to fight them. Here's just one of the requests: x.com/reporterliz/st…
Elizabeth Chou@reporterliz

Among the requests appears to be an added $850,000 for the attorney, Nossaman, and also to add the Venice Community Housing v. LA city case to that contract's scope.

@reporterliz It is not the site of a housing project. That former project is dead. Becky Dennison could not make it happen. Perhaps if she cooperated with the community like Tom Safran did down the street she'd have gotten it done. Hubris did not serve her (or Mike Bonin) well.

@reporterliz Alissa Walker pushing the failed Venice Dell project is like Mike Bonin pushing the Faizah Malik candidacy. Self serving and not from the community.

And, says Walker, THAT'S NOT WHAT A MOBILITY HUB IS. It's apparently not near transit, and there's a different lot that would be more suitable, Walker says.

@juliagulia1995 @jonathanhatami Remember Bonin Blvd aka Jefferson Blvd and how @mikebonin just let the homeless destroy the wetlands. Progressives are the most anti-environment people I’ve seen. Thank goodness for Traci Park.
