I am not defending Hon. Kabanda or the allegations made in that video. What I fully support is the PLU’s decision to withdraw its backing from @AnitahAmong. We cannot turn a blind eye to the multiple corruption scandals surrounding her and the way she has misled Parliament. We have not forgotten that our Chairman, Gen @mkainerugaba, once ordered us to march to Parliament to protest exactly this kind of corruption. It would have been a shameful contradiction and a serious political blunder for the same organisation to later endorse the very person we demonstrated against. Consistency in principle is not optional.

The CDF has asked NRM Members of Parliament to wait for President Museveni to come up with the names of the two candidates. PLU had earlier endorsed the two candidates.
