@pmagelah Ndugu, you are underestimating the power of stupid people. This country has an abundance of fools. You will see them coming up with statements along the lines of "...I am just doing my job..."

Am waiting to see a lawyer who can be shameless and go on state brief for Kizza Besigye and Lutalo while knowing that their own preferred lawyers have been arrested plus deported. Letโ€™s see who has no professional shame

@Ronkawamara @KiberuJimmy Remember the position of Governor at @BOU_Official ? He has demonstrated that he can wait. Perhaps he will wait for the American Citizens to complete the process of citizenship renunciation. If they thought that they were playing games, they might just surprise themselves :)

@KiberuJimmy I believe they have to complete the process of renouncing their foreign citizenship before they can take their seats in the cabinet. Whether the appointing authority will remain patient is worth watching.

What was the final fate of Uganda's four ministers designate who were vetted but placed aside? Have they chosen where they truly belong or still intend to have mixed allegiance?

Edwin Sifuna keeps telling them that all dictators (from Hosni Mubarak to Muammar El Qadaffi to Obiang Nguema and others) build highways, stadia, etc, but at the end of the day, the citizens want to be FREE. The DESIRE by the citizens to enjoy their God given rights is a MUST!

THE BEST PR A COUNTRY NEEDS IS TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND TO GIVE UNTO CITIZENS WHAT IS DUE TO THEM. RESPECT PEOPLE, THEIR RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS. All the rest are quick fixes that will crack down in a few Good morning

Food For Thought: Sending $200 from Tanzania to neighbouring Uganda cost 39.1% in 2023. Sending the same amount from the U.S. to Nigeria costs 2.3%. Good luck competing.

This is far too little for people who have sacrificed their all for this country. Only 15M a month? Thatโ€™s surprisingly low. For people who have sacrificed so much for this country, I think 100M would be better. See, our healthcare can wait. If more women die during childbirth, so be it. Mulago and other public hospitals can continue struggling. Our roads can remain narrow and full of potholes - we are happy to repair cars every month. UPE can shrink even further. As long as our Honourables are comfortable, well looked after, and happy, surely the rest of the country can wait. Priorities.

We've gotten remarkably good at measuring. Salaries, followers, square footage, the exact resale value of things we haven't even finished paying for. Ask anyone what something costs and they'll answer instantly. Ask what it's worth, and the room goes quiet. What happens when a society gets so fluent in numbers that it forgets how to notice anything a number can't hold. A conversation that changed how you think. A friendship that cost you nothing and gave you everything. Time spent on something that will never appear on a balance sheet, and was never supposed to. Price is what's printed on the tag. Value is what you'd still choose even if there were no tag at all. The quiet trick of modern life is convincing you those are the same thing.

"I'm a newly admitted lawyer looking for resources that simulate real courtroom practice." Every newly admitted lawyer eventually asks the same question, just in different words: No one tells you this before you're admitted to the bar: that the law you studied for years and the law you practice in a courtroom are, in the moment that matters most, almost strangers to each other. Law school taught you the law. It didn't teach you how to practice it. Nobody hands you a script for your first hearing. Nobody shows you how to draft legally sound contracts, or how a seasoned advocate structures a cross-examination on the fly. You learn that the hard way, in front of a judge, usually the one time you can least afford to. That gap is exactly what pushes good lawyers into imposter syndrome in year one. Not a lack of knowledge. A lack of exposure. Magezi Looya's Resources section was built for that exact moment!. Ugandan-jurisdiction templates, practical litigation guides, and learning material that takes you from "I just got admitted" to "I know how to run this case," without waiting years to pick it up by accident. You shouldn't have to learn litigation the hard way. THE NEW UGANDA - the land of dead Ugandans. โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”- On a cold night in October 2021, I was in the Mediterranean region for a meeting with potential business partners from China and the United States. I went to bed as usual, but dreamt in an unusual manner. In my dream, I went into the world of the dead Ugandans and witnessed a whole new Uganda. Even though, I am a citizen of Uganda and Kenya, I am more Ugandan in many respects. As my spirit visited the land of the dead, there were characters from the actual Uganda as we have it today. For instance @KagutaMuseveni was also the President of that new Uganda, but he was counting his last days on earth as his health was failing him. In his final days, he seemed to be so much in a hurry to create all conditions required to enable @mkainerugaba take over power with little or no resistance. The M7 of that new Uganda carefully and deliberately demystified @Parliament_Ug by allowing a bunch of greedy, thieving and extravagant chaps to help themselves to huge sums of tax payer money to the extent that the wanainchi started baying for their blood and asking for their heads. This created a sense of desperation and despondency in the population. The citizens in the new Uganda of the dead were yearning for a saviour. They trusted M7, but he had grown old and was low on energy owing to ill health. The citizens had no regard for any other politician on both sides of the divide. M7 stepped in with one last action before he died and left the Uganda of the dead. He elevated his son Muhoozi to the position of Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) with clear instructions to dismantle Parliament and become the second messiah character for Uganda - walking in the footsteps of Museveni I in 1986. Muhoozi went ahead and organised a bloodless coup in which he laid down a 10-point programme to reclaim the power of the people. Point number one was about fighting corruption and restsblishing the sanctity and respect of the institution of Parliament after amending the Constitution of the Republic. That, ladies and gentlemen is how Muhoozi got installed as the new emperor of the empire his father had started building in 1986. I woke up from the dream when Muhoozi was undegoing treatment in Dubai after surving an assassination attempt on him during the inauguration ceremony. This was unusual in many respects, but my dreams usuallyโ€ฆ
