@zriboua 100% correct. Given my military background everyone asks “what do you think about stopping the war for the blockade” and then they look at me funny when I tell them “ the blockade is the war” and the four weeks of bombing was an opening move to get to this point.

This H-1B worker has lived in the US for nearly 20 years and built a family here. His mom was dying in India. To visit her, he would need to wait months to book a consular appointment--with the soonest one available likely being scheduled one year out.
He made the difficult choice of not visiting his dying mom because leaving without an appointment would mean separation from his children, job, and his other obligations.
Much of the commentary around immigration focuses on how such bureaucratic burdens undermine immigrants’ ability to contribute and innovate. But we must remember that this red tape also prevents these people from being fully engaged with their own lives and meaningfully present in the lives of others. This matters too, and these seemingly non-economic problems will eventually translate into economic costs.
If America is no longer a place where people feel empowered to be the best versions of themselves as they celebrate, struggle, and grieve, it ceases not just being the land of opportunity, but also the land of dignity and purpose.

If you’ve ever worked in finance, you know women like this are a force of nature, especially at top-tier banks. They might not be the “rainmaker” bringing a deal in, but they’re often the ones making sure the deal actually gets done, the client gets their win, and the bank gets its fees. They’re smart, hard-working, usually the most focused and disciplined person in the room, and utterly ruthless. If you’re capable and you show them professional respect, they will move mountains for you. If you’re lazy, dumb, or a roadblock, though, they won’t hesitate to steamroll you and leave your body in an alley behind the building. The definition of no better friend, no worse enemy. You’d have to to be insane to pick a fight with someone like this, especially if the facts of the case aren’t completely on your side. We’re not even 24 hours into this story and it’s already clear the guy who tried dragging this woman through the mud is likely the dumbest dude who’s ever had a job on Wall Street. He truly has no idea what he’s done or what he’s in for.

Shocked anyone who claims to understand Bitcoin doesn't understand that the US govt doesn't engage in commerce.
The US doesn't export any oil.
Private parties buy and sell oil futures. "Futures" means that the product will be delivered at a future date.
If there is a net outflow from the US borders, it's more like a coincidence.
It means that the buyers of Oil futures who took delivery happened to live outside of US borders, while the sellers of Oil futures happened to live inside the borders.
If there are lots of foreign buyers, they will bid up Oil prices.
It's called a free country and it's called free enterprise and it's called 5A and 14A.

Nobody gives a shit about body count in the real world.
The internet makes a bigger deal out of this because the loudest voices online are almost always the least experienced.
Normal adults who have sex understand that sex is normal and that their partners aren't virgins.
And most guys are just happy to be with a girl who has genuine enthusiasm for him and treats him well. He's not gonna risk that over something trivial like her past.
