🚨🇩🇪 ALICE WEIDEL: WE NEED NUCLEAR POWER BACK ☢️ Angela Merkel blew up Germany’s nuclear power plants. Chancellor Merz claims that this decision is IRREVERSIBLE. The high gas prices are not primarily caused by the Iran war, but by CO2 TAXES‼️ @Alice_Weidel : “The German economy suffers under the burden of bureaucracy, crushing taxes, and exploding energy prices.” Will Germany’s greatest industries survive this INCOMPETENT government?

James Lindsay, who considers himself my intellectual superior, thinks I'm in a cult because I take a position on the Iran war that is shared by a majority of Americans His friends are cheering as war crimes and humanitarian devastation are threatened You decide who's in a cult

Yuri Bezmenov's Ghost

Here’s Ben Stein in 1979 describing television as an engine of cultural demoralization. He argues that a small clique of producers and writers pushed a left-coded inversion of reality onto the public. They despised traditional power centers and hated figures like Buckley. They propagandized the nation into accepting a fake world where businessmen are villains, criminals are the good-guys, small towns are sinister, military officers are proto-fascists, and work barely exists.
Yuri Bezmenov's Ghost@Ne_pas_couvrir

In the 1970s Ben Stein interviewed major TV producers/writers to ask why their portrayal of US culture was so distorted. Businessmen were evil. Real life crime was always depicted inaccurately, favoring instead the Marxist narratives on race, class, and culture of the new left.

Except the world is in deflation. High oil prices cause deflation unless central banks print money. Right now the posture is towards hiking rates, even more deflationary. The credit bubble and AI bubble collapse will cause a deflationary recession endless the Fed turns the money spigot back on.

I join the @iaeaorg in raising the alarm again over the safety of nuclear facilities in #Iran. The latest incident involving the Bushehr nuclear power plant is a stark reminder: a strike could trigger a nuclear accident, with health impacts that would devastate generations. With every passing day of this escalating conflict, the stakes and threats are raised higher and higher. We must de-escalate now. Peace is the best medicine.
IAEA - International Atomic Energy Agency ⚛️@iaeaorg

The IAEA has been informed by Iran that a projectile struck close to the premises of the Bushehr NPP this morning, the fourth such incident in recent weeks. Iran also informed the IAEA that one of the site’s physical protection staff members was killed by a projectile fragment and that a building on site was affected by shockwaves and fragments. No increase in radiation levels was reported. IAEA DG @rafaelmgrossi expresses deep concern about the reported incident and says NPP sites or nearby areas must never be attacked, noting that auxiliary site buildings may contain vital safety equipment. Reiterating call for maximum military restraint to avoid risk of a nuclear accident, DG Grossi again stresses the paramount importance of adhering to the 7 pillars for ensuring nuclear safety and security during a conflict.

I am hearing from Iranians who have always been against the Islamic Republic, always pro-US, and pro-war on the regime. They are angry about Trump targeting what they deem civilian infrastructure and economic lifeblood for rebuilding Iran.

@LukeGromen Demand was already very low, which is why OPEC repeatedly cut output. Still in a glut.

In COVID oil demand was down 9.2% y/y. All it took was shutting down much of the economy & handing out stimmy’s. You think we can shut the economy more than COVID, with no stimulus and without stock & bond markets, banking systems, & sovereign credit blowing up? 🤦‍♂️
JC X@CochranCrypto

@PBDsPodcast @LukeGromen Such a stupid take. You don’t think we can cut demand by 10%. That’s so easy it’s a laughable

BREAKING: The US-Europe alliance is reportedly reaching a "breaking point" over the Iran War, and President Trump has "mused" to aides about backing out of NATO, per WSJ. Details include: 1. Trans-Atlantic ties between the US and Europe are "deteriorating rapidly" 2. Trump has expressed "disgust" with European allies for not joining the US-Israeli war against Iran 3. Trump is questioning whether defending Europe serves US interests at all if Europeans do not help American military interventions in the Middle East or elsewhere 4. The White House’s stance is being described as a "break" with American global strategy since WW2 US-NATO relations appear to be at new lows.

@steve_hanke @judymorris3 It's at a time like this when it would have helped for the US bishops not to have been a bunch of irrelevant leftist pushovers for the past 50 years. Then their moral voices might carry some weight

@steve_hanke The oil price is set in the futures market, and it's not that far above the long-term average of $95 per barrel. There has been very little effect, and it's been mostly speculation. There is no supply deficit. The world is still in a glut.

Trump thinks US energy independence protects Americans from Gulf shocks. But he FAILS TO SEE that global markets are pricing all barrels the same. TRUMP = CLEARLY DOESN’T UNDERSTAND THE MARKETS FOR OIL.

When this is over, the western part of NATO will never be the same. Spain, England, France and Italy have sold us out, as they too often have a history of doing. Eastern European nations are the heart of NATO. They spend money on defense, know how to fight and love the US. France particularly deserves fault and blame. From supporting China and Russia at the UN to denying Americans overflight rights, they’re doing what they’ve always done - showing weakness, while cutting deals with terrorists. (The reason the US has a Marine Corps and Navy is unlike France, we refused to pay a ransom to the Barbary Pirates. France is always happy to cut a deal.) Wars have unintended consequences as nations show their true colors. NATO will never be the same, and Western European weakness and acquiescence is the cause.
