Last night, a shooting happened at the Vancouver Mall at a family friendly Halloween event. There are few confirmed details yet but we do know at least one person has died and two were taken to the hospital. Our thoughts are with all those affected #endgunviolence #enoughisenough

Join us: Wear orange on National Gun Violence Awareness Day—June 7—take a pic and share it on social media with a message about why you are wearing orange. Then, text ORANGE to 644-33 to find a Wear Orange Weekend event near you!

It is not acceptable for our students to worry about shootings while in school. We know this is especially affecting students of color in the Portland area. We must address root issues that lead to cycles of violence.

Tomorrow is the two year anniversary of the tragic shooting in Uvalde, Texas. In response to this devastating event, Oregonians across the state came together to gather petition signatures and put Measure 114 on the ballot. We look forward to the day M114 can go into full effect.
