We are exploring strategic areas of partnership to unlock the vast potential for cooperation between our two nations and expand opportunities for our people.
Held talks with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan at the Baku Olympic Stadium, on the sidelines of the World Urban Forum in Baku.
Our discussions focused on fostering collaboration in the oil and gas sector, investments to scale up our affordable housing programme, and renewable energy partnerships to support our target of generating 10,000MW of power.
We also discussed Azerbaijan’s interest in the proposed oil refinery project aimed at serving the East African region.
Additionally, we explored broader trade and investment opportunities, with a focus on securing markets for Kenyan tea and horticultural products, and other agricultural exports.

This morning at Kigali International Airport, President Kagame saw off President Mamadi Doumbouya of the Republic of Guinea at the conclusion of his visit to Rwanda.

As always, a good and substantive conversation with President of France @EmmanuelMacron. We were able to cover many issues, and I am grateful for our coordination across all areas. I thanked Emmanuel for his principled condemnation of Russian strikes on our cities and communities. These attacks make very clear what Russia is and why we all need to strengthen our collective defense against all threats. France is ready to work on anti-ballistic capabilities. This is a strong decision and an important step. We also discussed boosting our ability to repel Russian attacks right now. Thank you for the readiness to reinforce our air defense. We also spoke about the European track and the opening of all negotiation clusters in the near future. France supports Ukraine and understands how important this step is for all Ukrainians. Emmanuel informed me about his visit to countries in Africa. We addressed the importance of joint coordination in this area, as it is equally important for Ukraine.
