@OrwellsCU

The world is going mad, slowly, then quickly. I hope I can outrun it but I have my doubts. My pronouns are: sir/sir/sir

Back around 2001–2002 (she was early 20s), Sibel Kekilli — German-born, Turkish descent — appeared in roughly a dozen hardcore adult films under the name **Dilara**. It was short-lived (about 1–2 years max), done mostly to pay off debts/loans while she worked random jobs (cleaner, waitress, bouncer, etc.). She later called these "decisions in my life I am not proud of" and described the period as traumatic. In 2003 she was spotted by chance in a Cologne shopping mall by a casting director. That led to her breakout role in Fatih Akin's **Head-On (Gegen die Wand)** in 2004 — a raw, critically acclaimed drama about a Turkish-German woman. The film won the **Golden Bear** at Berlin Film Festival. Sibel won **Lola** (German Oscar equivalent) for Best Actress. Huge launch into serious acting. Two days after the Golden Bear win, German tabloid **Bild** (known for digging dirt) outed her past porn work as "Dilara." They published stills, ran headlines, interviewed her shocked conservative father who said: "The disgrace is too great for the family. I can never forgive her. I don't want to ever see her again." Her family (parents especially) cut contact. It stayed that way for years — possibly permanently. The scandal was brutal in the German-Turkish community context, mixing cultural shame, tabloid humiliation, and patriarchal pressure. She stood her ground publicly: "I made some mistakes… but that is the past. What counts is the Golden Bear." She refused to let it derail her. She kept acting, won another Lola in 2010 for **When We Leave** (Die Fremde) — playing a woman escaping an abusive family — which hit close to home. Then in 2010 she landed **Shae** in HBO's **Game of Thrones** (Seasons 1–4, 2011–2014). 20 episodes as Tyrion's sharp, loyal-then-betraying lover. Massive global exposure. Ironically (or poetically), Shae is a sex worker character — so the internet never let the old Dilara stuff die. Memes, side-by-sides, "method acting" jokes, compilation videos resurfaced forever. After GoT she continued in German TV (Tatort as detective Sarah Brandt for years), did activism against violence toward women (especially in Muslim/Turkish families — which got her booed at events for calling out normalized abuse), and stayed outspoken.

@GOPIsrael Not only the Strait of Hormuz. Great Britain is throwing their country into the garbage bin with mass immigration from a culture radically different and hostile, while punishing citizens for speaking out. We need to support Western Civilization. The UK is coming up short.

Last March I suggested that the Trump Administration should reconsider US policy on the Falklands/Malvinas in light of Argentina's readiness to stand with America - while Britain refused to do the same in the Strait of Hormuz. Last night, Argentina beat England 2-1 in a stunning World Cup comeback. And after the final whistle, their players unfurled a banner on the pitch: "Las Malvinas son Argentinas." FIFA may fine them. The British press is outraged. But Argentina has been a steadfast friend of the United States and of Israel - and friends deserve to be heard. I stand by every word I wrote in March. The Malvinas question deserves a serious answer from Washington. 🇦🇷🇺🇸🇮🇱

@MrWinMarshall I had been supporting Argentina because of my warm feelings of my fantastic holiday there and a general interest in Latin American culture. But maturity must win out and so I have switched my position. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The Falklands have been British longer than Argentina has been a nation. And if the Falklanders were “artificially implanted” then what exactly does that make argentines in Argentina?
Ben Leo@Benleo

NEW: Argentina’s foreign minister calls Falklands Islanders an “artificially implanted” population and demands new talks over the archipelago. Argentina players last week sang they would win the World Cup “for the Malvinas”. England play Argies in WC semi final on Wednesday.
