2026: Omisore, Oyebamiji, Babayemi and Other APC Aspirants are Unelectable - Adeleke Spokesperson OSOGBO - 07/08/2025 - Osunstate.gov.ng Osun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC) parades unelectable aspirants, any of whom Governor Ademola Adeleke will soundly defeat in the 2026 governorship election. Spokesperson to the State Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed made the assertions in response to critical statements credited to Senator Iyiola Omisore and Prince Dotun Babayemi over the state of governance in Osun state ahead of 2026 polls. The Spokesperson faulted attacks on Governor Adeleke by Senator Omisore, Ajibola Bashiru and Dotun Babayemi, accusing them of launching their political campaigns on the wrong notes by attacking a sitting governor with over 75 percent approval and popularity rating. The statement reads as follows:“From A to Z, Osun APC guber aspirants are politically deficient politicians who cannot by any stretch of imagination match the sterling records of Governor Ademola Adeleke in less than three years in office or pose any electoral threat to the re-election of the Governor in 2026. “Senator Omisore must first thank Governor Adeleke for constructing the road that passes through his family house at Ile Ife which was left unattended to for years under his watch. At least, the Governor should be appreciated even on this alone. “Ile Ife people may also want to know why Ife stadium and waterworks were abandoned even when senator Omisore has all the opportunities to complete them. Tales of abandoned projects raise a lot of questions about the senator's public service records. “Ife people appreciate the major infra development Governor Adeleke is bringing to Ile Ife through several internal roads and the flyover that are opening up the economic heart of Ifeland. At one point, Senator Omisore visited the flyover site and took pictures, a sign that he should be proud of the Governor. “Governor Adeleke is developing Ile Ife without any abandoned project. If the Governor’s first term is this good, the people of Ile Ife know the second term will be even better. “The enlightened people of Osun won't place a bet on a person of Senator Omisore's records. Even his party will not field an unelectable politician to face a popular leader like Governor Adeleke. “Aside Senator Omisore, Osogbo people have quietly told their son, the National Secretary of the APC, Ajibola Bashiru to forget any support for the 2026 race. Governor Adeleke is celebrated by Osogbo people as the development champion of the capital city with a huge goodwill and support for 2026.

Yesterday, in continuation of our ongoing commitment to strengthening fire safety and emergency response services in our dear state, I commissioned another three (3) fire trucks for the Osun State Fire Service. This brings the number of fire trucks procured by our administration to a total of seven (7) modern fire trucks and one (1) water tanker — after the last procurement about fourteen (14) years ago, a situation I found to be both alarming and unacceptable. Additionally, we have ensured regular supply of firefighting equipment, including protective gears to ensure our brave officers are well-equipped, well-prepared, and adequately protected in the line of duty, as well as prioritizing the training of our fire officers to be able to respond to emergencies with professionalism and efficiency. During my remarks, I emphasized the importance of regular maintenance and issued a directive to the Hon. Commissioner for Home Affairs and the leadership of the Osun State Fire Service to establish a comprehensive maintenance schedule and accountability framework to ensure that these vital assets continue to serve our people effectively and without interruption. I reiterated my commitment to ensuring equitable distribution of resources across the state. It remains my goal to provide at least one (1) fire truck to each of the nine (9) Federal Constituencies in Osun State and one at the Fire Service Headquarters.

Osun State’s leap from 33rd to 7th in NECO rankings isn’t just correlation, it’s causation, driven by strategic investment in education under the Imole Administration. When your students win the Malaysia International Debate and get invited to represent Africa at the AI Robotics Competition in Dallas, you don’t need a control group to know something’s working. Throw in a 2nd place finish in the National Sewing Competition and top marks in the NELFUND Education Loan Assessment, and we’re officially rejecting the null hypothesis: Osun is winning. This is what happens when education policy meets evidence - and a bit of Imole brilliance. #ImoleDe #STEMEducation #OsunShines #AIandRobotics #YouthInTech #TechForDevelopment #EducationWins #OsunSTEM

#G20 nations account for 80% of global emissions - they must lead on climate action with ambitious, far-reaching national climate plans (NDCs). @MazzucatoM outlines why major economies need to step up at #COP29 👇 “As we enter the second week of COP29, the urgency to accelerate meaningful climate action is more pressing than ever. "With limited time to reduce emissions and take the necessary adaptation measures, the need for substantial commitments and accountability from the world’s largest economies is crucial to achieving the 1.5°C goal. "Since G20 member states are responsible for 80% of current and past greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions, they should be responsible for 80% of the emissions reductions needed to achieve the 1.5°C goal. "The final report of the Group of Experts to the G20 Taskforce on a Global Mobilization Against Climate Change calls for the world’s biggest emitters to put 1.5°C-aligned NDCs at the heart of their industrial strategies and financial policies.”
