@archeohistories Pretty silly cartoon considering Iran is literally doing the same thing to Israel as US/UK/Russia have been depicted doing to Iran.

At that time, Iran had been occupied for four years and divided between USSR and Great Britain as a result of Operation Accord (1941). Due to Iran's lack of independence and subordination to the two allied powers, it became the venue for Tehran Conference in 1943, the first in World War II. The cartoon was published during the Iran Crisis, which arose after Soviet Union refused to withdraw its troops from Iran following World War II. During the war, Iran had been occupied and divided between Great Britain and the Soviet Union. The cartoon satirizes the lack of independence for Iran and its vulnerability to the influence of the three major powers. The caption "The Cat That Wanted to Be Alone" highlights Iran's desire for neutrality and sovereignty, which was disregarded by the occupying forces.  A week after the cartoon was published, Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan was proclaimed in northern Iran. About a month later, the Kurdistan Republic (Mehabad Republic) emerged in northwest of the country. Both were created with the support of USSR — and both collapsed after it left Iran. The founder of the Persian Empire, Cyrus II (best known to history as Cyrus the Great) was admired by such diverse figures as Alexander the Great and Thomas Jefferson, and is the only Gentile described in the Bible as “anointed” by God. During Cyrus’s reign his dominion ultimately stretched from the Indus River to the Aegean Sea—an empire that would culturally and militarily dominate much of the ancient world for over two centuries, and whose influence would continue to be felt long afterwards. When Cyrus ascended to the throne upon the death of his father in 559 BC, Persia (Persis) was a vassal state of the Median kingdom. But in the so-called “Persian Revolt,” Cyrus led the Persians in an overthrow of Median authority, resulting in the Persian conquest of Media in 550 BC. Persian armies led by Cyrus then conquered Lydia and Asia Minor. With the conquest of Babylon in 539 BC Cyrus’s Persian Empire became the largest empire in world history to that point. Cyrus is remembered as one of history’s most successful conquerors, but also as one of history’s most benevolent. Cyrus he did not try to impose foreign religion or culture on his newly acquired subjects, instead leaving them free to worship and live largely as they pleased. Further, he allowed (and encouraged) deported people living in the territories he conquered to return to their ancestral homelands, requiring no compensation or tribute from them. It was his liberation of the exiled Hebrews in Babylon that earned him so much praise in the Bible. The book of Ezra quotes Cyrus as urging the Jews released from Babylonian captivity to return to Jerusalem and build a temple and as saying, “The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth.” In the book of Isaiah God refers to Cyrus as his “anointed,” “whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him.” In around 370 BC, Greek historian Xenophon published Cyropaedia, a biography of Cyrus describing both his heroism in battle and his wisdom in employing tolerance in the governing of his diverse empire. It was principally this example of religious and cultural toleration in government that made Cyropeadia appealing to Thomas Jefferson and other figures of the Enlightenment. In fact, Jefferson owned and treasured two copies of Cyropaedia, and he recommended it as the primary text for any student learning Greek. In 1879 in what is now modern-day Iraq, British archeologists discovered a clay cylinder dating to the time of Cyrus (now called the “Cyrus Cylinder”) that offered more historical support for the accounts of Cyrus found in the Cyropaedia and the Hebrew Bible. On the cylinder, which dates to the time of Cyrus, were inscriptions encouraging religious freedom in the Persian Empire and allowing deported people to return to their homelands. It is believed the Cyrus the Great died in December of 530 BC, but conflicting accounts of his death make it impossible to know exactly when and how he died. In the Cyropaedia Xenophon says Cyrus died peacefully in his capital, but according to other accounts he died in battle. In the best-known account (the subject of numerous paintings), Cyrus was killed in battle against the Scythians, who afterwards decapitated him and presented his head to their empress Tomyris. However Cyrus may have met his fate, he is believed to be entombed in modern-day Pasargadae, Iran. The Tomb of Cyrus located there is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. When I woke up one morning and discovered that the DSS had officially applied itself to fighting me on behalf of @officialABAT by applying to social media platforms, @X (formerly Twitter and @Facebook because I called him a criminal for his claim that corruption had “vanished” from Nigeria under his watch, I did not know the depth of the interest of the @OfficialDSSNG Director-General, Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi. It wasn’t until someone reached out to me I learned senior DSS operatives were sniffing around, tailgating some of my associates, and collecting intelligence to locate the person who leaked the information to @SaharaReporters Reporters. That was when it became clear that their intervention was no passing interest. They had declared a full blown war on me because @SaharaReporters had published an exposé showing how a @OfficialDSSNG promotion exam led to the deaths of eight of their officers, creating deep internal disaffection within the agency. Today, @SaharaReporters followed up with another report revealing that the DG DSS had rounded up officers, accusing them of leaking information about the scandal and tragedy. The first sign of this desperation here on twitter was the number of trolls deployed by the @OfficialDSSNG on the report today. Sources reached out to me and warned bluntly, “These people have a plan to assassinate you, and the DSS is providing technical assistance.” This is not new to me. During the Muhammadu Buhari regime, the DSS once sent a team to assassinate me in open court here in Abuja. The officer nicknamed "Marshal", who I had to be rescued from physically by several persons, had just returned from Bulgaria, where he had been trained in so-called “non-lethal” techniques to kill (whatever that means). It is also telling that the current DG DSS reportedly started his career in the service by masquerading as a student at UNIBEN in 1990. They have been at this game for a long time. But it will not be too long before Nigerians themselves rise and say: this is too much. Meanwhile, a judge of the Federal High Court, Justice M Umar has now fixed my arraignment for “cybercrime” in the case filed by the same DSS for Tuesday next week. And on Monday, the case brought by the illegal Inspector-General of Nigeria Police Force is also scheduled to be heard at the Federal High Court by Justice MS Liman, the judge who confiscated my international passport since January 2025. Now you understand why they confiscated my international passport, it was not about due process or the law. It was a calculated move to keep me trapped inside Nigeria, tied down and unable to travel, so they could do their worst.

The State Security Service, alias @OfficialDSSNG today filed a 5-count charge at the Federal High Court in Abuja against ‘@X’ (formerly @Twitter), @facebook , and myself. They claimed that because I called @officialABAT a criminal, I have somehow committed a set of “novel” offences they invented and spread across five counts. It’s hard to believe there’s anyone sensible left in these offices that should be making Nigeria work. Regardless, I will be present whenever this case is assigned for trial. #RevolutionNow

So the "APC was created/funded by the USAID"...? -If I am not mistaken the APC is made of mostly PDP members who switched allegiance in 2014/15 for power. And Labour Party as of today is made up of mostly APC decampees who couldn't secure an appointment during the Buhari administration, plus once PDP party faithfuls, or people who had little to no value there. Presently, the APC, PDP, & Labour Party work hand in hand. So what are we talking about? Blaming the APC alone instead of the political system is crazy.
