@stylishesiri @Jesurukky1 Stop repeating this ignorant statement, Isoko Division was created in 1958,.same way Urhobo Division was created from Warri/Jekri (Sobo) Division in 1948. Read history book ffs.

We all agreed that that criminal elements infiltrated endsars in 2020 but now we all deny that just maybe this festival was hijacked by criminal elements too. I've never heard anything about a festival where rape is allowed in delta state

The community head and chief organiser of the event, one chief Omorede Sunday and four other suspects from Oramudu quarters in Ozoro have been arrested. The CP has ordered that they should be transferred to State CID with immediate effect. The CP vows that anyone involved will be arrested and brought to justice

Many girls have reportedly been r@p£d and m0l£sted by men in Ozoro during what is being described as a “r@p!ng festival” in the area. According to multiple reports and videos circulating online, today is said to be the day of this festival in the Ozoro community, and girls are wvrned not to go outside. It is alleged that any girl seen outside could be att@ck£d and r@p£d by groups of men. Foreigners who are unaware of this situation have reportedly fallen v!ctim as well. There is Delta state university in Ozoro, and many female students may not be fully aware of the d@nger. It is distvrbing that something like this could be tolerated in society. This is heartbreaking, and urgent action needs to be taken.

This is absurd and disgusting. There have been strong calls to authorities to treat this archaic Ozoro Oruamudhu community festival as the crime that it is. Tradition CANNOT excuse assault or r@pe. The Zonal Police HQ in Ozoro must act, the culprits images are in the public.

Many Girls Have Been Ass@ulted, Har@ssed And R@ped At Southern Delta University In Ozoro, In The Name Of Celebrating a Festival🤦🏾‍♂️. In This Video, Several Ladies Can Be Seen Being Chased Down, G@ng Grop£d, Mol€sted And Even G@ng R@ped💔. This Is Wrong And Heartbreaking. The @DSGovernment Should Do Something About This And Stop This Madness🤬. How Can People Go About Doing This To Women In The Name Of a Festival? 💔

It is specifically an Oruamudhu festival out of the 5 sub-communities in Ozoro. The young jobless incels who have been fishing for an opportunity to molest girls has found a touted "festival & tradition" route to act out their barbarism. The state must act to nip this.
Martinez@_martinezxx_

Talking about this ozoro festival. First of all it is not a rape festival. There are 5 quarters in ozoro, only one observes this tradition for 3 days. And they’ve announced as from 5pm no girl or woman should be seen outside in that area, you can go to other areas as a girl. However this not an opportunity to justify rape. The guys involved should be arrested.

This is not a popular opinion, but I will put it out anyways. It’s the people, it’s us that’s stopping something like this, we have to change our mentality in general before we can get to this level. You might say “but the government is tasked with the responsibility of safety, security and other words blah blah”. But you have to know, we are citizens before we can become part of the government, no government official comes from Mars , they were all once a citizen before they have the government authority. A mentality someone has been living with for 30+years won’t suddenly disappear because they are now a local government chairman or a state Governor. We need to start taking responsibility for our decisions too, from voting to committing public nuisance, to government corruption etc. Rainfall comes before the rainbow not the other way round.

What’s stopping our government from doing this?

My Isoko Language calls it Utaba too. I'm beginning to believe it was adopted from the TOBAcco word, that name is just too generic at this point. Almost all distinct African ethnic groups calls it by different variations of the same name.

@YourBabysDoctor @Ochibono Damn how similar are African Languages! The Iteso from Western Kenya 🇰🇪 literally call the tobacco plant ‘etaaba.’

@NationalGridNg There are some widely used infrastructures that Nigerians get systemic and technical explanation for that makes you question if we are the only country that uses them. I think Nigerians now know the technological set up of electricity that the countries that invented it.
