One of the most epic stretches of living in the history of the world
Sure, it takes making 1MM/year to live adequate, just enough to get a starter home (which starts at 2mm for anything non-tear-down), and pay the bills, afford a closet full of vuori, drive a Tesla, surf 10am-1pm on a weekday, and drink $7 cups of micro roasted coffee with chai tallow, take a few yoga classes per week, get a club membership, …
but 10/10 public schools, year round 72 degrees with a light breeze, organic grocery stores, no smog, no insects, no swamp ass, no crime, no homeless-tent cities, no parking meters, the best Mexican food north of Mexico City, the most slightly above average looking but fittest people you’ve ever seen and 10000x less pretentious than Newport and LA folk
World class and open to the public;
•Beaches
•Hiking
•Golf
•Museums
•Parks
•Zoos
And a tax racket that means homes worth 5mm that were bought 25 years ago for 500k, only pay 5k/yr property tax and locked for life (sans capped increase)
And this doesn’t even include that little hamlet to the right on the map called Rancho Santa Fe which is a tweetstorm all unto itself

The red circle is when we switched to Perplexity's $20/month plan to do the same thing.

Right.... Which Facebook course teaches this?? Because I am interested!! 👀
After watching about 20 videos in disbelief and disgust... I still watched them! 😅
Google HCU Update (now part of Core updates) - and its friend the SPAM update.
This is how Google corrects your rankings - even if you are a 'Healthy Entity' - if you try to SEO your site with AI and doorway-type content.
Google's ranking systems are BUILT on this type of correction.
siteFocusScore: dejan.ai/tools/focus/
Reflects how tightly aligned a site's content is to a single thematic area. A higher score indicates greater thematic focus, which can improve topical authority in SEO.
I’m frying my brain sitting in front of the computer 10+ hours a day for diminishing returns.
I’ve been trying to “make it” for 5 years now and I still didn’t get far. I sacrificed brain cells, relationships and most importantly time with my family.
I got health anxiety and got burnt out 3 times too. I’m tired of this.
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Is it my work ethic? Too much social media which distorts my expectations? Low IQ? I don’t know. All I know is that everything I do seems to flop.
I don’t know what to do next.
Most search queries are ambiguous making it difficult to classify intent and make decisions on how to optimise for them. Query expansion helps, but only only if you know which queries to expand. This is where our model comes in. Take it for a spin here and try proper questions vs raw keyword queries and experience the model in action:

Only 41% of the top 10 search results meet the user’s intent, and 63% of people think that Google search results were better last year. Learn more from WalletHub’s 2024 Google Search Results Study and Survey: wallethub.com/edu/google-sea…
@MorganOMedia@Jake_Boly Morgan, have you considered that your pages are overoptimized for keyword phrases in the titles? Also why are you using so many H2 tags? This may be causing you a problem.
I mean they took one of my sites off the internet, basically. So that the AI overview for an exact term we used to rank for now tells those googling about how to find Turkey Legs at Disney about Disney’s “secret elk farm” where the elk grow turkey legs from a parody site.
Thank God actual useful information no longer ranks.
My site:
heyorlando.com/turkey-leg-mag…
Replaced with an AI overview from:

I wish G would give some inkling about what to do if you have the HCU/Algo action on your site.
Nothing has moved the needle.
The lack of direction is frustrating.
"Be more helpful."
What does that mean, though? Have you seen the SERPs and AI overviews?
Where do we go?
The biggest threat to the open internet is happening in search.

These are the sites with the greatest % declines in Google SEO visibility between September 4, 2023 and April 22, 2024 (@Sistrix data)
Gee, notice anything totally obvious, or is it just me?
Sorry to anyone who works on any of these sites, I know a lot of you are seeing this. I just think the world needs to see this data.
This is not meant to be a reflection or knock on anyone's SEO abilities... clearly there are bigger forces at play here.
Reddit is noticing that Google is getting worse (note the 110 upvotes on the comment)
And if it’s on Reddit it must be true (according to Google) 🤷♂️

I always wonder who owns boats like these. Where do they sail to? How much time do they spend on board? Do they own companies? I have SO many questions.
Here is recap of what Google is doing to end my website. I have worked really hard for the last 20 years at this to see an algorithm update essentially end business as I know it. It's a long read with lots of charts and examples mtnweekly.com/health/google-…
