Gestion durable des risques agricoles : Le combat agroécologique d’Afantchawo A Tsévié, dans la région des Plateaux au Togo 🇹🇬, la ferme-école agroécologique Terre Bénie forme chaque année des centaines de jeunes et de producteurs aux pratiques agroécologiques et à la restauration des paysages forestiers. Au cœur de cette initiative, Afantchawo Koudasse, jeune agriculteur, maraîcher et promoteur de Terre Bénie, a fait de l’agroécologie son combat. En respectant la nature et en excluant l’usage d’intrants chimiques, il œuvre pour réduire les risques agricoles, préserver durablement la fertilité des sols et garantir une agriculture saine pour les générations futures. Face aux défis liés à la production et à l’accès aux marchés, la Coordination Togolaise des Organisations Paysannes (CTOP), partenaire de @leFIDA et de la #PARM, accompagne ces agriculteurs à travers le Projet de Soutien au Maraîchage Agroécologique au Togo (ProSMAT), financé par le @GAFSPfund, notamment par la mise en place de marchés homologués. #PARMStoriesChallenge continues to bring new stories to life. Winner of the 2023 edition, @ishimwepascal6 joined a field mission with #PARM and @IFAD in #Madagascar 🇲🇬 to capture the untold stories of farmers from several villages in the Amouroumani region. “Despite travel and access challenges, there is something that drives you to reach the destination and tell these stories because they are amazing,” said Pascal. During this journey, Pascal braved rough roads and unpredictable weather to experience the daily life of smallholder famers and learn how to effectively advocate for their impressive work in building resilience in our #agrifood systems. Face aux risques agricoles, l’alphabétisation ouvre les portes de la connaissance et de l’autonomie. Cornalie Nduwimana, agricultrice autochtone de la colline Gihamagara, dans la commune d’Itaba, en province de Gitega au #Burundi 🇧🇮, illustre la puissance de l’alphabétisation comme levier de transformation. Pendant longtemps, elle a vécu dans la peur des pertes et de l’incertitude, mais tout a changé le jour où elle a appris à lire et à écrire grâce au Projet d'intensification de la production agricole et de réduction de la vulnérabilité, #PIPARV-B, cofinancé par @LeFIDA, qui héberge la #PARM. #JustReleased | PARM Horizon 2 Final Report (2019-2025) 🌱 Operating during unprecedented global challenges, marked by pandemics, conflicts, and climate shocks that underscored the urgency of proactive risk management, PARM Horizon 2 reaffirmed its commitments to de-risk agricultural value chains and leverage investments from public and private actors. Over 6⃣ transformative years, PARM strengthened analytics, developed tailored toolkits and rigorous methodologies, and deepened partnerships at national, regional, and global levels. At country and regional levels, key milestones included the assessment of 10 agricultural value chains to support de-risking investments, with more than 30 #AgriRisk management solutions identified. PARM designed nine investment projects across #BurkinaFaso 🇧🇫, #Burundi 🇧🇮, #Ethiopia 🇪🇹, #Ghana 🇪🇹, #Madagascar 🇲🇬, #Niger 🇳🇪, #Senegal 🇸🇳, #Tunisia 🇹🇳, and at the regional level in West Africa, engaging over 750 national stakeholders throughout the process. In parallel, PARM developed 10 training curricula, implemented in Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Tunisia, Uganda, and at the value-chain level. De la survie à l’indépendance financière : inspirez-vous de l’histoire de Léa au Burundi 🇧🇮 À Mugitega, dans la province de Gitega, Léa Niyonkuru incarne la résilience et la détermination. Partie d’un lopin de terre minuscule et de ressources limitées, elle a transformé sa vie et celle de sa communauté grâce à l’inclusion financière et à une meilleure gestion des risques agricoles. Pour faire face aux risques liés à l’accès au financement et aux terres, Léa a rejoint un groupe de caution solidaire bénéficiant de l’appui du Projet d’Appui à l’Inclusion Financière Agricole et Rurale (PAIFAR-B), financé par @leFIDA Burundi et soutenu par la #PARM. Elle y a bénéficié non seulement d’une éducation financière, mais aussi de plusieurs crédits qui lui ont permis d’acquérir des terres et de développer ses activités agricoles. Aujourd’hui, elle cultive 13 champs, produit des tonnes de maïs, de haricots ainsi que du vin de banane, et assure un avenir meilleur à sa famille.
