This is a prime example of the current consumer sentiment around packaging expectations versus “sustainable” options.
Consumers aren’t willing to sacrifice product visibility, for sake of “environmentally friendly” design changes.

@PD_Tech_Dash @IoPP_Pros @uwstout It would probably be fine at typical use case temperatures. I tried Little Otter and didn't have any issues with melting, but the paperboard became picked up after a few weeks and oils(?) from the product absorbed into the container. A grease/abrasion resistant coating may help.

While it results in a slight part-weight reduction of plastic material, these composites complicate the recycling process significantly.

Is this compressive strength due to the 3D printing process? Or, is this replicable at scale using more traditional glass molding manufacturing?

Does “ambient” shipping mean that this packaging is meant to insulate from external temp changes (maintaining ambient internal temp?) Or, is this a cold-chain solution, in which products are maintained at a low temperature?

Looks like Document Crunch closed their series B to no one's surprise.
This startup might have the most stacked VC backing of any contech company.
Nemetschek, Fifth Wall, Trimble Ventures, Zacua, Ironspring, along with several ENR top 100 contractors.
They literally have Avengers-level industry experts on the cap table.
Ironically, their lead investor was Titanium - a random, non-AEC specific VC.
Maybe I'm wrong on this but I imagine the team is getting pulled in 10 directions at once. Their board meetings must be an absolute battle.

Interesting #Sustainability news coming out of the EU. Healthcare and Cosmetic packaging pose unique regulatory risks, due to potential contamination of the recycling stream.
#Chemical #recycling is a new technology that can change this.
