@RichardHanania California water rights aren't a good example, because the property rights system was suboptimally designed in 1915. The users in 1915 were grandfathered in. There are now about two dozen water baron families in CA and they increasingly intermarry to create water dynasties.

Rep. Glenn Grothman's OPT Fair Tax Act would force employers to pay the same Social Security and Medicare taxes for foreign OPT workers that they already pay for domestic hires. The bill targets a pipeline that averages 330,000 foreign student workers annually.
Closing the loophole could generate up to $36 billion in federal revenue over 10 years.

I took my 11 year old to her checkup this morning and the nurse asked me to step out of the room for a moment. I politely declined and she said, "It's just for a moment." And I told her, "No thank you, given all the stories about children being abused my husband and I decided to never leave our children alone with anyone, even medical providers. Anything you need to do or say you can do with me in the room." She looked all miffed and just left, no idea what her plan was but she didn't feel the need to continue it with me present and that makes me even more suspicious?? When she left my daughter thanked me for not leaving, she's already shy about the doctor, her eyes got so wide when the lady asked me to leave.

On May 13, 2026, Anita Ann Grayson entered the Tim Hortons lobby on Ice Way/Lima Road in Fort Wayne to complain about her drive-thru order.
She began berating a 17-year-old female employee.
When 20-year-old shift leader August Horner intervened, Grayson struck her, sparking a physical fight in which both women fell to the ground.
After the altercation was broken up, Grayson sat at a table, then lay on the floor and became unresponsive.
The family and community are calling for justice for Grayson and for Tim Hortons to close its doors.
