In 2021, Tanja's routine mammogram was clear. Learning she had dense breasts, she requested supplemental screening. That request was tragically denied -no one can access supplemental screening in Nova Scotia. She fractured her hip in early 2023, around the same time she felt the tumour on her own. She was diagnosed at Stage 4, with extensive bone metastases. We had the privilege of advocating with this kind, generous woman who wanted better for others. We will honour Tanja’s memory by continuing her advocacy—pressing for change for those underserved by mammography and current inequitable policies. We will work for a future where no woman’s life is cut short due to lack of access to essential screening.

This stat popped out at me. "A survey of 30 000 teachers found that while 89% were excited about teaching when they began their careers, only 15% expressed the same enthusiasm by the time the survey was conducted" Thoughts? @PHECanada @NSTeachersUnion

Team Canada 🇨🇦 made its final 4 Nations roster decisions last night. Roster is set. Deadline to submit to the league is tomorrow. Not surprisingly the last couple of roster decisions were very difficult as one might imagine.
