Ushakov isn't announcing a peace plan. He is announcing a partnership.
This statement confirms that Trump is prepared to adopt the Kremlin’s script, treating Ukraine like a nuisance and an authoritarian aggressor like a partner.

Presented as current reality, but Zelenskyy himself said this is a CONTINGENCY PLAN IF US withdraws from NATO.
You're presenting what Zelenskyy said is "should US seriously consider" as if it's happening NOW.
Also: Zelenskyy proposed UK+Norway+Turkey+Ukraine JOIN the EU — impossible (UK left EU, Norway said NO twice, Turkey negotiations frozen 2008, Ukraine is a long shot). This is political fantasy, not policy.
The “new axis” slogan turns a desperate, forced pivot into neat propaganda.

3. “Europe as the main defense partner” — Only half-true.
Europe does lead on artillery shells (~80%+ of recent supply to Ukraine) and the €90B loan is real. But the U.S. remains the irreplaceable source for the most critical high-end capabilities Ukraine still relies on: Patriot air-defense systems, theater-level intelligence, and F-35-related enablers. Europe is the main provider of conventional ground weapons — not the overall “main defense partner.”

Throughout 2025, the President of Ukraine tried to win Trump’s favor — and now he is no longer willing to wait.
Ukraine is building a new axis: Turkey as a mediator, Europe as the main defense partner, and joint weapons production replacing hopes for U.S. military aid.

UK's nuclear/conventional posture has real limitations:

Only a deeply insecure person who has nothing to do with leadership could say such a thing when so many people are dying every day from a bloody war, the bloodiest since World War II. Politicians are needed to take responsibility and to talk to those who the people who are suffering cannot talk to.

But the actual MIVD report says a conventional NATO-Russia war is 'virtually excluded' while Russia is still fighting in Ukraine — plus a bunch of other caveats. Better to read the source than the framed summaries.

2/ The report’s actual assessment (under the most favorable conditions for Russia) is a planning assumption for NATO: Russia could regenerate enough combat power in ~1 year after Ukraine to start a limited regional conflict aimed at politically dividing #NATO via small territorial gains (possibly with nuclear blackmail). Russia is preparing for a clash with NATO to seize territories, Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) claims. After the war with Ukraine ends, Moscow will need only one year to accumulate enough forces for a regional conflict with NATO and is already conducting concrete preparations. The Netherlands' MIVD believes Russia aims to split NATO and achieve limited territorial gains, and is ready to use nuclear blackmail for that. The ongoing war in Ukraine is seen as part of Russia's long-term effort to fundamentally change Europe's security architecture.
