@mm9sql @AMSAT One issue we had was needing to be colorblind safe. The original switch to green/red was not (it was tough for me). I think there is another switch coming soon.

@JD_Jerbear @Sheehan_Sports The ‘07 team was a 3 seed that needed a win in the CCHA third place game to get into the tourney. They were objectively a worse team than the ‘06 team that was a 1 seed and lost in the second round, but they ended up winning it all.

I think I was consistent with @Sheehan_Sports all year on the show. NCAAs is where it matters this year. And heck I didn’t expect a regular season title after MSU dropped points in CBus and was swept by Wisconsin. They got one banner so far

Does anyone use SAT controller @CsnTechnologies with a single IC-705 on linear birds?

@FG8OJ @KC7JPC @CsnTechnologies The IC-705 doesn't have a CI-V port. The only CAT control is via USB, so the CSN SAT won't work.

Since my balcony faces north, I had to go to the roof, but I finally got into the KP5/NP3VI log before they are QRT.

@_VA7LM The satellite should be fairly soon (probably under its RS95S designation - need to get back to the ARRL on that). For new modes, the ARRL usually waits until it's added to the ADIF spec.

Does anyone know when LOTW will be updated to include satellite QMR-KWT and mode FT2?

Made 140 QSOs in the 2026 ARRL DX CW Contest this past weekend using a 24' wire fed with a 9:1 unun on my 12th floor north-facing balcony.

@jamiedupree H.R. 7006 - which is the combined FSGG & NatSec/State bills was also previously sent to the Senate, so the Senate essentially has duplicates of those two appropriations bills too.

NERD NOTE. The House not only sent the 6-bill minibus to the Senate which funds DHS/ICE (HR 7148), but also HR 7147, which is only DHS funding. Possible vehicle for a CR or other deal?

@K5PO @CMcKayFL FreeDV RADE is pretty good. I've made a couple of QSOs with SNRs down to -2 dB.

@CMcKayFL Agree it’s not necessary. But it’s more about pleasantness and natural sound. None of these modes have a high likelihood of being better in weak signals than SSB anyway.

Digital voice modes are so cool, but they consistently just don’t sound good or natural. Bandwidth constraints are understandable, but these modes must pass a simple test: Sound better than a comparable strength SSB signal. They all seem to fail. youtu.be/u3Dmu65YNTI?si…

Bringing amateur radio gear to Nebraska paid off with a new DXCC worked - United Nations HQ on 30m FT8. UN HQ is one of two DXCCs I had on satellite, but not terrestrial.

@amsat_sm I have a LoTW confirmation from S01WS for an HF QSO a couple of years ago.

Just worked S01WS in Western Sahara 🇪🇭 (Gridsquare: IL46RD / distance: 4298.3 km) on QO-100 🛰️ using FT8. Unfortunally no LOTW... #hamr #cloudlog #amsat

@PRStoetzer @FCC I’ve seen some of these “users” up close. Many are running Icom mobiles, often with marine band antennas.

The non-amateur traffic on 2m here in Florida is out of control. We have some good tropo this morning, and I am hearing and seeing hunters every 25 kHz in some parts of the band. 144.5 to 144.8 seems especially busy. @FCC has completely given up on enforcement?
