My wife took a DNA gender test that’s supposedly 99% accurate… and we were told we were having a girl. I was of course thrilled either way— as a child is the ultimate gift from God. For months, I’ve prayed nightly over my wife and our little girls continued development and health. But about a month ago, without thinking much of it, I started slipping the name we chose for a boy into my prayers… My wife would just smile, knowing we were “officially” having a girl and thinking I was just being hopeful. Today, on the way to her 20 week ultrasound, I told her again… “Our little girl is actually going to be a boy” She laughed and reminded me not to be disappointed because the test was 99% accurate. I told her I wouldn’t be disappointed no matter what… I said I was just going to be extra happy because the baby is actually a boy and that the test got it wrong. As we walked into the ultrasound room, the tech asked what gender we were expecting. Without hesitation I blurted out, “It’s a boy!” (The test had said girl—but for some reason, I just knew.) Minutes later, I heard some of the coolest words of my life: “It’s a boy.” I may or may not have jumped out of my chair and celebrated in a manner that those waiting in the lobby could hear… Looks like God had been trying to tell us all along! (We already have an entire wardrobe full of girls clothes, I should’ve listened earlier!) Praise the Lord— I’m beyond excited to be a father to a son. I can’t wait to raise him up on the Word of God, and not on the word of the world. A future of toy soldiers, oil changes, dirt bikes, and combat sports awaits… And it looks like the wife now has quite a bit of shopping to do… This is going to be awesome 😎
