The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will convene a Regional Envoys’ Conference in Islamabad from 14–18 May 2026. The conference will review regional and global developments and Pakistan’s bilateral relations with brotherly countries, focusing on multifaceted areas. The recommendations of the Envoys’ Conference will contribute in further strengthening Pakistan’s bilateral relationship with these countries. Pakistan remains committed to proactive diplomacy and sustained regional engagement.

DPM/FM Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 spoke today with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, H.E. Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. FM Sheikh Jarrah appreciated the peace efforts undertaken by the Prime Minister, Field Marshal, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan, in promoting dialogue and engagement between the United States and Iran. He commended Pakistan’s constructive role in advancing regional peace and stability. The two leaders discussed the wider implications of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz on the global economy and expressed hope for a peaceful, durable, and early resolution of the ongoing situation. He highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s @CMShehbaz vision of making Pakistan a regional digital and innovation hub. He underscored Pakistan’s immense IT potential, youthful talent, and rapidly growing digital economy, along with the opportunities emerging under CPEC 2.0 — transitioning from physical infrastructure to intelligent infrastructure, digital connectivity, AI, ICT, and innovation ecosystems. He reaffirmed the strength of Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Partnership, describing it as an enduring and trusted relationship entering a new phase of digital and economic cooperation. The launch of IBI’s Digital Economy Headquarters, he noted, marks another milestone in Pak–China friendship and reflects growing confidence in Pakistan’s future as a platform for technology, investment, and digital transformation.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated appreciation and support for Pakistan’s constructive mediation role. Both sides underscored the importance of continuing a durable ceasefire and ensuring normal passage through the Strait of Hormuz. They also discussed planned high-level exchanges, activities marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, as well as broader bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The two sides agreed to maintain close communication on all matters of mutual interest.

UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for the Middle East Conflict, Mr. Jean Arnault, called on DPM/FM Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 today . Mr. Arnault conveyed UN Secretary General’s deep appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for regional peace and stability, and expressed UN’s continued support in that regard. DPM/FM discussed latest regional developments with the Personal Envoy, and highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing efforts and continued engagement with the parties. He also conveyed his deep gratitude to the UNSG for his invaluable contributions and consistent support for Pakistan over the years .
