Folks in composting-savvy cities: I have a composting bucket on my countertop. It is CONSTANTLY attracting fruit flies and the like, and every time I open the lid it explodes with an apocalyptic swarm. Does anyone have any favorite countertop composters that aren't like this?

@DuckDuckGo I'm trying to log in to my health insurance website to make a doctor's appointment, but the verification emails from them aren't getting forwarded to my backend Gmail account. Emails from other senders ARE getting forwarded. What's going on?

Love to have my @Zipcar account suspended because the person who rented the car next falsely reported me for damages, the review team is taking a billion years to process it, and now I don't know how to get my cat to the vet for his procedure.

@blastron That said, there's no way the USA could switch all of its protein production/supply chain to bugs in the near future, and I don't think there are any serious plans to even implement that. At most it'll be like having Impossible or Beyond patties as an option.

my mother warned me about the urgent possibility that there are people in the government trying to get us to stop eating meat and eat bugs instead, a concept so wild that i'm now seriously concerned about how deep of a disinformation hole she could have fallen into

@RunnerNDA It's just the boomers blaming millennials for literally everything instead of taking a hard look at how they set up a society that makes it difficult to feel like you are capable of raising a happy healthy child.

People on the sidewalk also saying that nobody was home in the houseboat, and to their knowledge nobody was hurt.

Huge @SeattleFire presence on Westlake right now outside China Harbor. People on the sidewalk are saying it was a houseboat fire. Traffic has been blocked for a while (at least 45 minutes) but bikes/pedestrians are coming through.

@seattledot Love the question asking if I'd ride the E more if it connected to light rail stations far enough away from me that it'd make more sense to just... take the light rail from a station closer to me. Please don't use that as an excuse to NOT connect the E to the future stations.
