Do you ... not know how this works? Ai can't use salt water. And desalinization adds ANOTHER cost, and infrastructure blueprint/load to the pipeline. Also, generally, desalinization plants cannot desalinize water at the same rate that AI datacenters consume it. So it would be MORE wasted money added to the chain.

Used to live at my local one, back in the 90s. Mortal Kombat 2 was all the rage🤣 Hell of a statement on how far we've been overly sensitized, as a society. Back then, the "kids only" space involved a game where - when i win - i literally rip your head off. Or dismember you, or turn you into a baby (Babalities were SO fuckin' weird)

How is this going to work for artists? Some art programs have “ai” built in, some of the filters are driven by “ai”. So while it may not be a fully genned image, nor did the artist even know the filter they used to pop colors could be classified as “ai”…….will it still be labeled ai? Or what about mixed media artists who might use an ai asset without even knowing it from a stock photo for a photobashed background but then drew everything else? The witchhunt on artists is going to get worse from the mentally ill freaks. Dont get me wrong, its a needed feature. I just worry how rocky its going to be. Edit: upscaling is popularly ai driven now too. How will that work @_@

@Praxis_Fall @MadamSavvy I say that say, for my part at least, the resentment isn't against the AI itself. It's against the companies, and what they ruined in pursuit of a profit margin that is likely never to come. People are tired of being treated like a disposable resource by Billionaires.

It *shouldn't* matter, but the tech market has been absolutely wrecked by the wreckless pursuit of greed on the parts of these AI companies. A new GPU now costs more than a used car. Hell, farmers in some spots were even told to ration water, so that the AI datacenter could have unrestricted access to it. They literally prioritized AI over our fucking FOOD SUPPLY.

I love that these companies conned investors out of BILLIONS, only to have their fear stifle and wreck AI in such a way that damn near the entire world took a stance against it. "Innovation" is not the realm of big business. They're not the ones to do it. They're too scared. They're only concerned with "safe and profitable".

I've had the same thought. But the fact that Todd is tired of being asked about it, as he said, gives me pause. Normally he's the talking head. If the PR team is excited about it, then Todd has to act like he is too. They're not. So he's not. I don't have high hopes for 6. I hope I'm wrong. Good GOD do I hope I'm wrong. But I think they're migrating all of their eggs to the Fallout basket, especially with the success of the show. I think Elder Scrolls will be either abandoned after 6, or I'll die before 7. They just don't seem to care about TES anymore.

I’m still convinced they had a lot of progress on TESIV and once starfield was received with a less then warm perception, they gutted it and restarted.

Out of all the things you can find to complain about this has gotta be the most fucking pointless one. Do people really care devs use AI to generate a picture on the wall 98.7% of people never look at? Be fucking serious who cares?

We do. Because it speaks to a mindset. Sure, it's only the side art now, but it's a piece of the creative process that was pawned off to a machine, to save time. It's obvious upon inspection, which means 1 of 2 things. They didn't notice, or they didn't care. This kind of mindset expands over time. So it won't be long before it seeps into things that *are* obvious. And every inch that was apologized for, or was labeled as "not a big deal", will have led to it.
