When there are shareholder votes, it is a bad time for a company when the majority of their shareholders are retail. Why Retail tends NOT to vote at all. This is why $AMC wasn’t able to dilute and completely eliminate their debt when the stock price was $70 back in 2021. If a large fraction of the $GME community is retail right now, a vote like this needs a quorum, which is a simple majority of the shares outstanding accounted for (50%+1) in a vote. Retail tends to vote around 25% of the time. The biggest thing stopping a GameStop shareholder vote from passing is by simply not having it hold a quorum. It really doesn’t matter which way you feel about the vote as long as you vote in the first place.

This excuse is running thin. Every American was barred from 'higher education' for most of US history. No one with any sense today is looking and clapping at what is at best a box check degree. Congrats, you're the top of the bottom. College as a concept was first and foremost a blue blood networking activity, less concerned with knowledge more concerned with heritage + social mobility. It was formed in an era where the mode of travel was slow, but the interconnectivity of economic activity was converging during 19th century industrialization. The broader connection of old world families is what we now know as the Ivy League. This was changed after WWII. College access was expanded and what we now define as 'higher education' was created. At heart, it was nothing more than the further stratification of society based on socio-economic class. This is where you're butthurt. You historically, are the last in line of a queue filled with people who are last the in the queue. Yet somehow your malice is pointed towards the people in 90th place as opposed to those in first. In the end, idk what to tell you dude. The old world families we'll never be allowed to consort with still check the boxes. They just do the social mobility thing at college prep schools in gap years after boarding schools before their rubber stamp to Harvard. It's all a joke. Wake up.

One of the areas in which I differ quite a bit from a lot of folks on the right is the discourse on Mexican immigrants. I think most of the hatred for Mexicans comes from a terminally online component of the right that lives in cities/suburbs and doesn't have much actual interaction with Mexican immigrants. Because boy, once you've worked a blue collar job or been to some cookouts with these guys, a lot of the arguments being used against them just seem completely ridiculous. I work in the oilfield. A huge percentage of my coworkers and friends here are Mexican. These dudes are overwhelmingly Christian, super family oriented, incredibly hard working people. They go shooting or do rodeo on the weekends. They essentially personify all the values that the right champions. So it blows my mind that these guys specifically have somehow become the boogeyman to a large percentage of rightwing people, despite being aligned with them on almost everything. In my experience they are solidly good and freedom loving people putting in a ton of honest work to build a good life for their families. They are honestly doing a better job of perpetuating the American dream than a lot of white folks....like I'd rather have 1000 of these dudes in my town than 1000 white communist blue hair types.
