OK… Shakey’s or Pizza Hut?! Did you know Shakey’s Pizza actually opened 4 years before Pizza Hut and is considered America’s first franchised pizza chain. 🍕 It started in Sacramento, California in 1954 before Pizza Hut’s famous red roofs, red cups, and pan pizza era even existed. Shakey’s became known for thin crust pizza, beer pitchers, arcade games, Mojo Potatoes, and Little League team parties that a whole generation grew up with. One of the craziest parts? Their pizza ovens weren’t even finished opening weekend… so they only sold beer to raise enough money to complete the restaurant. 🍻

@Sz1909_Szemberg What is wrong with 64 games? NHL has 84, KHL 68. Yes, problem is with scheduling due to IIHF Worlds in May. Liiga would need more weeks to accomodate the regular season, but it is impossible due to IIHF Worlds. IIHF calendar was on a table many yrs ago, the issue was not solved.

@slackkejakke Beamish has been the (50p) cheaper version of Guinness as long as I’ve been drinking. Murphys just a tied house product that you’d have to pay me to drink.

Murphy’s and Beamish as an alternative to Guinness is clearly now a thing in this country, but I’m yet to see them myself. Facts of living in an irrelevant town: you see food trends but have to wait for them to arrive, like the cast of On The Beach waiting for the fallout.

Going through Amtrak’s 30th Street Station and enjoying the glow-up it is getting for the tournament. Some nice banners, floor ads, and even a memorabilia vending machine filled with merch and random items (a $29.99 luggage tag, for example).
