Whoa! Walked into the opening session of #NAEMSP2022 and saw a room FULL of (appropriately masked) EMS physicians, quite possibly the largest attendance I've seen in over 10 years as part of NAEMSP! AWESOME!!!

What have I learned from @benabo this morning? Our role in disasters is more than traditional medical or strategic. It is the psychological support & the guidance to honor - and feel - the gravity of what has happened. Amidst so much loss remains humanity. #NAEMSP2022

.@rpcrowe discussing outcomes with diff ketamine doses in trauma pts: After adjustment, no diff in airway procedures or cardiac arrest with the higher dose of ketamine, but higher dose did result in more likely to have SBP <90 and drop in GCS. #NAEMSP2022

@BMorshediMD (as usual) was quicker to the tweet than I, but perfectly reflects how well @benabo and @joeholley encapsulate EMS Medicine. In Omnia Paratus - "ready for all things" #NAEMSP2022

.@benabo discussing unique role as an #EMSDoc at #SurfsideCollapse where he was treating trench foot, hyperthermia, MSK injuries, wounds, & most importantly psychological injuries of the US&R team. Kudos indeed for maintaining operational readiness over several weeks. #NAEMSP2022

Excited to see #MD5 @benabo (EX11) lecturing at the @NAEMSP #NAEMSP2022 meeting on the #SurfsideCollapse operation which he served as medical director. Also very proud to see our #SafetyThird sticker displayed… the #Surfside operation was a safety third one for sure. Kudos Ben.

How does one objectively monitor ventilation technique, pressure, flow, and volume, particularly in low flow states such as cardiac arrest? Consider using low tech manual ventilation for prolonged scene or transport times. #NAEMSP2022 @ParagonMedEdu
Brandon Morshedi, MD, DPT, FACEP, FAEMS@BMorshediMD

"We looked at the consistency of how we ventilate...the volume, the rate, & evaluated underlying characteristics, experience, etc, & needless to say...we sucked!" - @joeholley Highlighting the importance of a BLS skill that requires actual SKILL & practice. #NAEMSP2022
