I supported #JulianAssange from the first. I supported him against fake allegations when others were calling him foul and demanding his extradition to Sweden. I supported him against the British state prosecutor Keir Starmer, against Biden, against Trump. My then 7 year old son drew a childish plan whereby Julian could escape across the rooftops of Knightsbridge. My family's joy that he is now free and with his family overfloweth. By Wednesday on @MoatsTV I will have plenty to say about what happened to him... My salute to all his faithful supporters around the world. The victory is yours.

Today’s Democratic Party has led us to the brink of nuclear war. The party is led by cowardly warmongers who are firmly in the grips of the military industrial complex, and don’t know or care about the cost of war, or who pays the price.

Building industry has pivoted from bashing #passivhaus for cost. "Net-Zero and passive house were conceived before we started accounting for embodied carbon" except they don't account for it, they just use it to avoid tougher standards. Hypocrites

@Chris__Parsons Good detail. However, I suggest extending the 50mm PIR board out to within 100mm of the facia to prevent the rockwool packing from blocking the air path when it relaxes. I accept that this means taking down and reinstating the soffit, but you'll need that to inspect it anyway.

110 years ago today, a New Zealand newspaper warned that burning coal could eventually change the climate. This was based on the work of Svante Arrhenius, who 16 years earlier had measured the warming effect of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Don't say we didn't warn you.

A new study by Stanford shows it'll take $62 trillion for the whole world to go renewable, which will earn $11 trillion annually to pay for itself within 6 years! That's also adding 28 million more jobs than the current fossil fuel industry has! Source: bit.ly/3BnjJmA

@AnnMarieFallon_ @EsTresidder @ecohaus_uk The skirt can always go horizontally outside (under the path) if founds are shallow. Shallow founds are usually not wide founds so 45deg angle on ext. insulation may be possible from rising wall downwards & be enough to achieve the fRsi. Massive increase in thermal mass of floor.

@EsTresidder @PassiveLogical @ecohaus_uk Ensure surface temperature hygrothermally on the internal floor is going to be above dew point. If you have shallow footings/can’t get the insulation ‘skirt’ down full enough it can be a risk. % floor heat loss can be v small v capital spend (& carbon) to remove &insulate

@EsTresidder @ecohaus_uk At the time I didn't know how to do it, so I replaced the floor. Subsequently I learned to thermal model and discovered my mistake. The floor replacement was needed to get to full PH (classic) but of no consequence for Enerphit. Client brief was EPh, we overshot and delivered PH.

@PassiveLogical @ecohaus_uk Have you done this and had it get through #EnerPHit Simon? I looked into it on a project and I didn't think it was going to work, energy wise. But I'm not sure I was doing the calcs the right way. I'd be interested to discuss with you if you have done it.

@sliceandserve Careful! Italy is closed for tourism in December. It was even hard to find any restaurants or hotels open outside of the big cities. Coastal towns windswept and deserted. Spagetti for breakfast (at noon) one day. And 5 public holidays within the span of a 10 day trip. Nightmare.

Sorrento vs Santorini? Greek paradise vs Italian coast? For b'day in December so sunbathing not necessary. 😉 But if you've been to either, what did you like most? Am down rabbit-hole, lovin' researching but which wld you recommend? I mean, may end up in Peru, so... #newview

Can anyone recommend a measuring device for testing on-site existing window glazing unit u-values? Realise this is likely to have margin of error but would help fine-tune estimation of existing heat load.
