Endorsement Alert ๐Ÿšจ! @PastorKason Republican nominee for the State Board of Education in District 9, began proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1989 and thereafter for over 35 years. He has served as founding senior pastor of Freedom Place Church in Rowlett for 23 years and continues to do so. Kason has also led in city-centered organizations, such as Rowlett Christian Business Leaders Fellowship, the Purple Conference (a domestic violence awareness conference), and mentoring programs for middle school and elementary students. Outside of ministry, Kason is a strong member of his community. In 2022, he was appointed as the Rockwall County Republican Chaplain and in 2023, Rev. Huddleston founded the Rowlett Republican Menโ€™s Club, which is the only GOP Menโ€™s club in Dallas County. He also currently serves as the State Chaplain for the Republican Party of Texas. It was an honor to have @PastorKason, the Republican nominee, for District 9 State Board of Education join us this week to discuss the work surrounding the State Board of Education, including the revision of the Social Studies TEKS, and passages from the Bible being included in the Bluebonnet Curriculum for English Language Arts. After over 13 hours, I finally got the chance to testify before the State Board of Education to express my strong support for teaching American and Texas Exceptionalism in our Social Studies standards. If we fail to teach where our rights come from, we risk raising a generation that does not understand, nor value them. I also urged the Board to stand firm against ideological agendas that seek to reshape our distort our history standards. We MUST hold the line!
