Let's not forget that Alex Cora's Red Sox teams had consecutive last-place finishes ('22-'23). He's not the baseball messiah everyone's making him out to be now that he's been fired. He could never effectively manage a pitching staff; his team's defense was horrible; the swing-and-miss rate of his hitters was off the charts; he didn't utilize small ball enough; and it remains questionable how many wins Cora was actually responsible for. He was a likable baseball personality who excelled in post-game pressers. He won a lot of fans over by winning the 2018 World Series in his rookie managerial year. But hardcore baseball fans always ask, "What have you done for me lately?" and that's where Alex Cora fell short...
