British supermarket chain the Co-op is cutting ties with Israel in a major win for the BDS movement, and will remove Israeli products from its shelves from this month. Palestine Solidarity Campaign director Ben Jamal called it a “seismic victory” and said: “The Co-op has shown great moral courage and ethical principle in deciding that it cannot ignore voices from the British public calling out Israel’s gross human rights abuses and violations of international law – and even more importantly, it cannot economically support that regime through doing business in Israel. “This beacon of leadership must now be taken up by all other supermarket chains which continue to sell Israeli goods, despite knowing they are supporting its war crimes.” The Co-op will also cease sourcing products and services from 16 other countries where there are internationally recognised community-wide human rights abuses and violations of international law, including Afghanistan, Belarus, Central African Republic, North Korea, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Haiti, Iran, Libya, Mali, Myanmar, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

People Before Profit
People Before Profit TD for Dún Laoghaire Richard Boyd Barrett has announced that he he is stepping back from politics for a period as he receives treatment for throat cancer. Richard Boyd Barrett said: “I recently received a cancer diagnosis and I am about to begin a treatment programme. I have been advised by my doctors to take a complete break to focus on my treatment and recovery. I will therefore take an extended period of leave starting later this week. "The consituency operation in Dún Laoghaire will continue. Bríd Smith will be helping to run the constituency work in my absence and I want to thank her and the constituency team for their support. "I’m disappointed to have to step back from my work during this time, but I look forward to getting back as soon as possible to representing my constituents and campaigning on housing; to ensure that ordinary people are not made to pay for Trump’s tariff wars; to defend our neutrality; for the people of Gaza; and all the other issues that are central to my political life. “I’d also like to take the opportunity to thank all the health workers who have been looking after me so well. I am relying entirely on the public health care system and I hope that the Government will fulfill their commitment to resource and staff our public health service so the health workers can look after us all the way that they want to do.” People Before Profit said: “Richard's commitment to People Before Profit and the fight for a better world is hard to match. We are sure very many people will be wishing him a speedy recovery. The party stands behind Richard as he takes time to prioritise his health and we look forward to welcoming him back soon!”

This massacre must be one of the worst atrocities of all. Rescue workers murdered one by one, then buried in a mass grave. This is clearly a war crime. All those responsible should be brought to trial. And we should stop arming Israel. theguardian.com/world/2025/mar…

While Trump appoints 13 billionaires to his cabinet and Musk, Bezos and Zuckerberg see their wealth increase by $217 billion since the election, 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, 25% of seniors live on $15g or less and millions cannot afford rent. SAY NO TO OLIGARCHY.

"I want all women who have been raped to say: Madame Pelicot did it, I can too. I don't want them to be ashamed any longer." That shame was never hers to carry. Gisele Pelicot is so right and so brave to refuse it and to demand that it changes side. lbc.co.uk/news/gisele-pe…

Israel has spent the past year desecrating international law on live TV. Now it is waging war on the UN itself, including 10,000 peacekeepers from 50 countries stationed in Lebanon. What will it take for the UK to end its military, economic & diplomatic support for Israel?
