And here is 4K on a 3090 with a faster cpu, the same very high settings but raytracing turned on at high (not very high) levels.. noticeably chonkier, not enough to offset the imo modest visual improvement

I definitely appreciate real time raytracing (RTX) but the performance impact is still so extreme.. here’s 4K spider-man on very high settings but raytracing off with the 3070… basically perfect 60fps..

SwiftUI dumb question #948: I have a bunch of Text objects I want to put in a grid, where each item is sized no bigger than needed and then flows to next line (eg: see second picture). No matter what I pass into LazyVGrid it seems to be a specific size, what do I do here?

The iPhone 13 Pro shoots 4K 30fps ProRes video……. unless you get a 128GB phone, which is limited to 1080p 🙃

@ishabazz Same. What’s the point of ProRes recording that is hard to get off the device, because of the lightning ports bandwidth limits.

@SammySmallman @smileyborg You are not alone. reloadItems never seemed to work the way it should and sadly reconfigureItems is no exception what I have tried so far. This SO post explains the problem of reloadItems pretty well. Haven’t checked out the new WWDC video yet however. stackoverflow.com/questions/6408…

iOS 15 introduces a new way for you to conveniently update content displayed in existing cells in UICollectionView and UITableView: reconfigure. When and why should you use reconfigure? How is it different from reloading an item or row? Let’s dive in with a quick thread.

@DonnyWals @OndrejKorol @twannl I was playing around with this new method but it seems to be as broken as reloadItems. You either have to make your ItemIdentifierType model a class instead of struct or, as you already mentioned, use the workaround.

@OndrejKorol @twannl You need to loop through the changed records and mark them manually in the diffable datasource to have them refresh. It's very much a weird workaround and this should hopefully fix that 😁

This single new method is going to make my life so much better! I've really been struggling with this several times. @DonnyWals this should be the answer to our Core Data reloading issues!
