@texaggie9325 Agreed. This is why the most likely scenario over the next four or five years is the SEC and/or Big 10 (and perhaps a few others) breaking off and forming their own Super League or Division. Hope this isn't the outcome, but almost seems inevitable at this point

@paulstonesports "CFB leaders" represent individual Universities or Conferences. The NCAA has no real power in college football. Thus your plan is doomed to fail because a rich school has no benefit in giving money or power to a poorer school out of fairness.

Group of 6 schools - along w/many Power 4s - lack the purse strings to keep their best and brightest in today’s NIL culture. The rich are getting richer; the poor poorer; and the gulf grows wider. CFB leaders should be focused on leveling the playing field - not playoff expansion

@thrashman10 Conroe (TX) HS coaching legend W.T. Stapler after his team lost to Earl and Tyler John Tyler in the 1973 Texas state football semifinals: "I always thought Superman was white and wore a cape. I found out today he's black and wears No. 20 for the John Tyler Lions." Legendary!!

@MichiganPodcast Expansion would give opportunity to schools which have historically been omitted. Leveling the field - from my perspective - doesn't mean access though. I'm talking overhauling the current, no holds barred NIL mess. Inclusion doesn't magically make overmatched teams competitive

Can’t level the playing field without expansion. Playoff-driven sport now, and all the in-season branding has been playoff-driven since it began. A small group of teams hogged all the recruits during four-team playoff era. Same thing still happening, just a slightly bigger group.

@NotHammerNation Good point! I'm a strong believer in a capitalistic society, but not at any and all costs. CFB's leaders are intoxicated by dollar signs to the point they miss the big picture IMO. Systems have to be in place to maintain some semblance of competitive balance

@LonghornClips This was the final game coached by legends Darrell Royal of Texas and Frank Broyles of Arkansas. Both teams had rough seasons (5-5-1). The following year, the Longhorns had an unbeaten regular season - only to see its national title hopes ended by Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl

THE TYLER ROSE PILE-DRIVER! Earl Campbell drops the hammer and absolutely crushes his way into the end zone for a thunderous 1-yard touchdown plunge! Texas Longhorns grind out a 29-12 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks! Dec. 4, 1976

Arkansas SP Hunter Dietz: 3.47 SEC ERA 1.22 WHIP 12.52 K/9 He's one of the five best arms in the conference, and the 6'6 lefty has shown flashes of dominance this year. Texas will have their hands full, and it puts a lot of pressure on Cody Howard in his first start this year.

What is your desired number of teams in college football's postseason playoff?

@FortyAcreVibes In all seriousness, Texas would be -4 vs Texas Tech (with Will Hammond at QB) today on a neutral

Hypothetically speaking- What’s the potential Vegas line on a 2026 Texas vs Texas Tech football matchup and how much money is Brendan Sorsby putting on it?

We're 100 days away from Week 0, but the kitchen's already getting hot: First, there are daily reminders of CFB's likely move to a 24-team playoff. Also Texas Tech may or may not play 2026 w/Brendan Sorsby at QB. Now Sark's getting feisty and dissing Ole Miss and Texas Tech!!

@JoshPateCFB @FDSportsbook What would a Miami vs Ohio State rematch be at right now? No shot it’s anywhere near the ridiculous line of -9.5 from last year, right?

@JoshPateCFB @FDSportsbook I vacillated back and forth between Oregon -2.5 and -3 vs UGA and ultimately settled on -3. I think that's a good number that would draw solid two-way action

@On3 And there's a media member who was a Heisman Trophy QB at another Texas school who says 4-loss teams shouldn't be eligible for inclusion in the proposed 24-team playoff. Wisconsin's avg opponent was 25 points better than Akron's LY, according to Jeff Sagarin. This isn't the NFL!!

NEW: Steve Sarkisian took a shot at Texas Tech while discussing how the College Football Playoff Committee factors strength of schedule👀 “There's a team in our state that plays in another conference that has a schedule that I would argue if I played with our twos and our threes, we could go undefeated, and they'll probably make the CFP this year.” (via @AnwarRichardson) on3.com/college/texas-…
