BYU fans are upset that Rob Wright hit the portal. He's a 6-1 scoring point guard. Look at NBA history. That archetype isn't cashing out at the next level. So yes, he should squeeze every dollar he can out of college basketball. You'd do the exact same thing at your job if your value doubled overnight. Remember when guys used to transfer because they weren't getting minutes? We're not talking about minutes anymore. We're talking about real deal money. NIL and the portal killed loyalty. It's whoever pays me the most, every single time, until they put real parameters on it. Don't hate the player. Hate the system. Meanwhile, I'm fired up about Colin Chandler coming to Provo. Great points by @JayBilas. UNC is "tampering" with coaches under contract. The NCAA isn't busy creating policies to limit that conduct. But it's not OK for players under contract to communicate with third parties because they may benefit? Schools complain about finances, but are on the hook to pay fired coaches tens of millions of dollars. No one is begging Congress to cap coach compensation. But compensation to athletes must be capped? College sports "leaders" need to continue to be called out. For the "SAVE COLLEGE SPORTS" crowd, let's start talking about how much money those "leaders" are earning. Maybe their salaries should be capped, as well?

Elijah knows basketball more than most. And certainly has achieved success that only a selective few have. Only Danny and Jimmer and Kreso can claim more accolades than him as a former BYU-turned pro. His breakdown is spot on. And if it was the exception for the Texas game is one thing… but the performance we saw yesterday became the norm, even when Richie was still there.

The hand injury has been significant for Keita and BYU’s defense.
