Absolutely disgraceful racism from @jkyleofficial on @TalkTV. As the camera zooms in on me and @DrHWazir on the picket line, he sneers that “a lot of them have come into this country to be doctors.” He based this solely on the colour of my skin. I was born in the UK. I studied and trained in the UK and I currently work as a doctor in the NHS. My grandfather fought for this country in WW2. This is racist, demeaning, and utterly unacceptable.

She was speaking after showing Good Morning Britain emails sent by the hotel chain's senior management team responding to her complaint about the assault. I am deeply concerned by the @scott_mills story, following his sacking by @BBC. Mills was allegedly investigated by the Metropolitan Police, with a file handed to the CPS who decided there was insufficient evidence to prosecute. If an individual can be investigated, cleared of prosecution due to insufficient evidence, & still face professional ruin, then we are entering dangerous territory. Institutions must be very careful not to substitute due process with reputational expediency. Justice cannot operate on suspicion alone, nor can fairness be preserved if allegations—untested in a court of law—are treated as proof. We must ask ourselves: are we upholding justice, or quietly dismantling it?
