Today marks four years since Russia started its full‑scale war of aggression against Ukraine. Every day, Russia kills Ukrainian civilians and destroys everything Ukraine has built and defended. Yet #Ukraine stands heroically – defendingits land, its freedom, and its independence. It defends the whole Europe, paying a dreadful and tragic price. Latvia’s support for Ukraine is steadfast and unwavering. We are and will remain side by side with our Ukrainian friends, with the powerful Ukrainian nation. Members of the Core Group gathered in Strasbourg on 19-21 March for the 14th and final meeting. The legal experts of the Core Group finalized the technical work on three draft documents necessary for the establishment of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine. These documents will now be submitted for political consideration. This achievement followed more than two years of dedicated work and in-depth discussion of the Core Group.
