@Lori23497568592 US has paid exactly 0 dollars in Canadian dairy tariffs. This is pure propaganda. Look it up. These are safeguards that have never needed to be used.

Imagine being proud of using your economic strength to break long standing agreements and essentially steal the hard work and money of Canadians who actually built the bridge. This is gross. Anyone who voted for this should be ashamed of themselves. You voted for the school bully.

@Solus07 @C_U271D Thank Christ all these SEA are popping up. It's really common in Canada and whenever my family goes to the region we ask for leftovers if there are any. I didn't want to be rude but I'll be damned leaving rendang or laksa to waste.

Cheesy Pizza, which has served customers on the corner of W. 100th and Broadway since 1991, appears to have permanently closed. The owner said the rent would nearly double from $20,000 per month, so he's done after 35 years. He was choking back tears.

@ladyloodeeloo @peachtard Idk why they spend the energy and $$$ to try and sell 99% of it. Keep some photos and things that mean something to you, and any badass kitchen things like le creuset's, and haul the rest to the dump. Or have a thrift store pick up what it wants and haul the rest to the dump.

@peachtard There’s a trend on Instagram/tiktok of the children of boomers sharing the mountains of crap they have to sift through when their parents pass away. It’s almost all worthless.

NEW: Billionaires hide in plain sight in America’s richest county. But the workers who keep the town running can no longer afford to live there. Half commute an hour through a canyon just to get to work. Jackson Hole tells the story of wealth inequality playing out everywhere.

@ProfitsTaken @Hedgeye And we're supposed to trust that they can hobble together some grand UBI plan if AI starts replacing everyone en masse and societal cohesion starts to break down? They can't even get basic infrastructure correct since Eisenhower.

@Hedgeye Massive indictment of our economic policies and "leadership." Back then, Dad could be a Barber and Mom a waitress. They could afford a family home, 2 kids, their bills and 1-2 cars. Same jobs today can barely afford an apartment and car while raking up debt. For shame.

In 1960, more than half of 30-year-olds were both married and homeowners. Today, it’s roughly one in eight. The share of married young adults (25-34) collapsed from 59% in 1990 to 39% by 2021. The typical first-time homebuyer is now 38 years old, up from 33 in 2020. A spouse and a deed used to define the average 30-year-old. Now, they describe a shrinking minority.

@karolkarpinski @kchoudhu I've always seen adjoining rooms for this situation? Is this not a thing anymore where you're from? This is all the average chains like Best Western where I've seen it. All over the Western states/provinces from Montana/Wyoming over.

Hotels are almost always better than Airbnbs, but they cater poorly to a reasonably common use case of 'a group of friends (including their spouses/children) wants to stay together, share meals and hang out in common spaces.'
𐌁𐌉Ᏽ 𐌕𐌉𐌌𐌉@OrevaZSN

Hotels are infinitely better than Airbnbs. They’re cheaper. No chores, no cleaning fees, no insane surprise rules, no mystery stains, and no host pretending to be your new best friend. Just check in, sleep, and leave. The way it should be.

@wakeupkacho @petty_kaya @neet_sol Right and once you're out of school, the odds of you doing all the cool things you're learning, at the job, are slim. It'll end up a 40 year grind like the rest. Something something, you're only 21 and this has been covered.

@ProfitsTaken I do too, but PP needs to go. He's a lifer politician and it shows. No 'real world' experience. Trump politics don't play well here, and like you said, Carny is smart and stole the centrists the last election. Took moderate conservative policies as his own.

Of course. But that was also 2019 and the trajectory took a very sharp downwards turn post 2019. More crime, immigration / assimilation issues, housing out of control, record numbers at homeless shelters and food kitchens, higher unemployment. Not sure how it changes. I think the party in power has a stranglehold and I don't see anyone else winning a majority for years, perhaps decades to come. The balance has been lost. Hope I'm wrong!

Social security fund reserves projected to run out in ~5.5 years Gov won't fix it. They broke it in the first place. 401k, IRA, stock and equities accounts are your new social security funds. Build a long security portfolio.

@ProfitsTaken Job market is messed up, good numbers were skewed from the horrendous scam programs bringing in everyone with no checks. Now that's reversing and the numbers don't look so good. It was propping up gdp meaningfully too. Hopefully things slowly turn around here. No expectations.

Yea, he's adopting PP policies lol Cunning. He did that during the elections as well. They're all awful though. They've buried themselves in red tape forever and hollowed out what was once a great nation. I left for a reason and never looked back. Love my people, beautiful land, horribly sad story and frustrating. A big investment could occur with data centers. First coming soon but we'll see how they square a hyper aggressive "climate change" policy regime with accepting massive data centers throughout the land.

@ProfitsTaken Not sure he's adopting much climate change from his book anymore, seems pragmatic now. 2 major pipelines announced, more gas and mining development. Dredging lower mainland for large tankers, first nation's don't have as big of a say.

@ProfitsTaken I question those charts a bit though. Stats Can has property crime as 1995/100k in 2023. US is 1906, not close to 69%. Obviously different measures used or drawn from. Stats Can also shows wildly different %'s on robbery. Not saying this chart is wrong, stats can is often legit.

@PenguinKeys Canada now has more violent crimes than the US and more property crime. There's issues for everyone. But the aforementioned were jarring to discover. The overall economy is also weaker in Canada. Doesn't need to be but it's been intentionally decimated.

@ovidiofficial @blondesnmoney Yes if you actively invest, or in Countries like Canada where it's heads and shoulders above the rest on options trading. Sucks if you trade in the sewers with many OTC's, due to the volume of shares you buy at once.
