Man, I hate to dog an elderly man when he’s down, but I think it’s important to hear. I am your long-term constituent. I was molested by an illegal when I was a little girl. It was pretty horrific and stayed in the back of my mind a long time. If he hadn’t been here, it wouldn’t have happened. That simple. I have followed your voting record for ten-plus years as immigration has always been a big concern of mine. I hated seeing what was happening to TX as illegals took over industry by industry here, suppressing wages, putting American businesses out of business, clogging up our schools and ERs, etc. But you never would vote to take a hard line on illegal immigration, not even years ago, because you were rewarding your business donors who wanted them. The day I took my two young girls, who were in middle school at the time, into a convenience store and four illegals who couldn’t even speak English were making noises at them intended for adults, long stares at their behinds, the whole shit they do, I was radicalized on border security. Radicalized. I exploded inside. Every time I wrote to you to vote for immigration measures, you ignored me and voted for more immigration/amnesty/DACA crap. You never listened. My vote for @KenPaxtonTX is a direct vote against you. Your pleas for reelection and lies about how conservative you are, I now get to ignore you the way you ignored me all these years. The last time I took a step into our Walmart, that was overflowing with illegals, one of them called me a bitch in Spanish when I asked him to please quit blocking the aisle, my very young daughters being sexualized by them in a convenience store, my then-grown daughter looking for a job but half she couldn’t apply to because she didn’t speak Spanish to accommodate all the illegals (good jobs-doctor offices, law firms), I could go on and on. But I won’t. Because it didn’t matter to you what you were doing to Americans. We are voting on your poor record, John. Not because President Trump told us who to vote for. Many Texans have waited years to vote you out. Thank you, @ScottPresler, from the bottom of my heart. You’ll never know what you’ve done for me.

Another former POW, Colonel Larry Carrigan, described how prisoners secretly passed Jane Fonda slips of paper containing their Social Security numbers in hopes of proving to the world they were alive. The story claims she later handed those papers over to North Vietnamese officers, resulting in brutal beatings for the men involved. Carrigan survived. Others allegedly did not. Former civilian adviser Michael Benge, who was imprisoned for more than five years, also spoke publicly about his experience. He said he agreed to meet with Fonda because he wanted to tell her the truth about the treatment POWs endured — not the “humane and lenient” image being presented for propaganda purposes. According to Benge, he was severely punished before any meeting could happen. For many veterans and military families, Jane Fonda’s 1972 trip to Hanoi became a symbol of betrayal during a painful chapter in American history. While supporters viewed her as an antiwar activist protesting U.S. policy, critics believed her actions crossed the line into giving aid and comfort to America’s enemy during wartime. Decades later, the anger and controversy surrounding “Hanoi Jane” still remain powerful for many who served, suffered, or lost loved ones during the Vietnam War. Whatever one’s political views may be, the experiences of POWs and veterans deserve to be remembered and treated with respect.

Trump’s endorsement of Paxton should put to rest the fantasy Trump cares about the GOP as a whole. What he cares more about is building a party that’s loyal to him, not building or sustaining a party that can win. It’s always about his feelings, isn’t it? How he felt, how great he was. And make no mistake-he was a great man: a wonderful father, a devoted husband, a loyal son, a true patriot. I never doubted his honest, spontaneous heart for one second. But you? I have serious questions about you. You flood the world with stories of what he did, how amazing he was, how much he loved his family… yet I’ve seen almost nothing that proves your feelings for him. No raw grief. No genuine appreciation. No evidence that you truly valued the man you had, or that you deserved him. I notice. I can’t not notice. He was an extraordinary human being. From where I’m standing, you’ve given me zero proof that you ever fully appreciated it — or that you were worthy of him. Call me whatever you want. Insult me, block me, scream all day.
