@jarvis_best My favorite part of his campaign was when he said his plan to turn the economy around was to sell Alvin Greene action figures
English

Oh man. Just found out that Alvin Greene died last week. Fellow olds will recall him inexplicably winning the 2010 Dem senate primary in South Carolina despite being a random hobo who didn't campaign at all and who was also under indictment for looking at porn in the USC library. He's the guy who first made me want to get into politics.

@pegobry_en @RenaudCamus I am glad I got to see Mont Saint-Michel, but it should be for the French first and foremost. They need to restrict access there. It looks like Disney World during peak hours. You can only really enjoy it if you stay overnight so you can be there when the day trippers leave.
English

One of my favorite things @RenaudCamus did was when he ran for President of France, his tourism platform promised to make every effort to reduce tourism as much as possible.

@bendreyfuss The lunch meeting was supposed to address this. No legit bank or oil company wants to expose itself to the risk given that Tommy basically stole the leases from MTex after using MTex money to start exploration. He needed someone shady, hence the cartel
English

@chainer2111 @MsRhodesD24 Clark had 18 points in the 1st Q when Bree Hall was defending her. After USC switched Raven onto Clark, Clark shot 25% (5-of-20) and had four turnovers. So yes, Raven locked down Caitlin Clark.
English

@MsRhodesD24 yall have a really weird definition of "Locked down Caitlin Clark"
Name one GM in basketball, that would build they're entire franchise around Raven Johnson with their job on the line.
English

I’m salty I missed this game. They underestimate Raven! She earned my respect that year she locked Caitlin Clark down and they won that championship! She took the wave off personal!

@Force__Majeure @CEBartsch @TheMilkBarTV Its hard to criticize someone for showing grace to a friend, as Kirk did with Candace. But I wish he had realized just how awful and unhinged she was. He might have been more forceful if he knew Candace would be attacking his wife, Trump, and TPUSA
English

@CEBartsch @TheMilkBarTV I doubt Kirk would call Tucker out publicly, he just would have distanced himself from TC. CK obviously had a lot of grace for his friends. Sadly, some of his friends do not reciprocate & are trying to hijack his life's work & lead it in a direction CK never would have tolerated
English

In July 2025, a concerned mother called Charlie Kirk to ask where her son was getting revisionist ideas about Hitler and the Jews. She referenced the Groypers and asked Kirk: “Do you know some of the names of the influencers who are taking advantage of the conservative youth movement?”
Kirk replied: “I do know the names. I’m not going to repeat them because that only makes them and their little irrelevant circle bigger.”
Cut to today, less than two months after Kirk's assassination: Tucker Carlson gives Nick Fuentes a softball interview.
Progress?

Oh man. Despite all the smiles, your background description lends the photo of Dad and Padre some true poignancy. The car has been a struggle though - I'm venturing a 1937 Dodge, with so-so confidence.

@iowahawkblog #davescaridservice Memorial Day 1944. My USN corpsman dad just back from an all expenses paid trip to the Solomons, with a local padre somewhere in northern California. Sorry, there's not much car showing.
English

Today's #DavesCarIDService goes far south of the border to pay tribute to arguably the greatest driver who ever lived: the mighty Argentine Juan Manuel Fangio, who made his racing debut in the Road Grand Prix of Argentina, October 18-30, 1938.
Yep, you read that right. A 13-day race. There were some brutal car racing events in Argentina in those days, point-to-point endurance test up to 6000 miles long.
In that first Grand Prix, Fangio teamed with Luis Finocchietti, co-diving this modified 1937 Ford, powered by a hopped up Ford flathead V8; note the righthand steering wheel. In those days Argentines drove on the left side of the road, UK style, later switching to US style right side driving post WW2.
Fangio did start racing a few years earlier in local events, in a hopped up Ford Model A. The man who would later win 5 F1 World Championships was a born hot rodder.

English

@TheRestHistory Or would his desire to be at the center of great events led him to choose a glorious death even knowing what it would mean for Emma and Horatia? In either scenario he would know the French lose and he would know the outcome for Emma and Horatia after his death. What would he do?
English

@TheRestHistory Love the show and this series. If Nelson could have chosen a different outcome where Cornwallis gains the decisive victory over the French and Nelson ends up living a long life with Emma "just" as the hero of Copenhagen and the Nile, would he have taken it? 1/2

Nebraska already IS a world power. If it were a country, Nebraska's annual per capita income ($73,500) would be 8th in the world, just below Denmark. Its GDP bigger than Ukraine's.
Galactic Barrier@galacticbarrier
@JayFivekiller @dopatraman_ @RodeoProfessor See if you can correlate number of nobel prizes to anything useful. Nebraska should be a world power by now based on your logic. A few more and they'll have more than both India and China!

@AMAZlNGNATURE Why is it being held up by Peter Stormare dressed like a cattle rancher?
English

@treywallace I appreciate the article. I would point out it is Rahsul, not Rashul. Also worth noting he was a grayshirt at Marshall and went home to help his family before the spring semester, so he was never even part of the football program.
